Alex goes and finally finds Nathan but Nathan already defended himself. Nathan asks Alex if what those guys said were true, that Alex sent those guys because he didn’t like Nathan and all that. Alex was basically getting black mailed by David with Nathan’s nude photos that were taken by him without his consent by his ex, so to protect Nathan, Alex said yes it was all his doing and ever since then everything fell apart.

David threatened Alex. If Alex stayed by Nathan’s side, he would leak the nude photos to the whole school and ruin Nathan’s image. In the end, Alex decided the best option was to take all the blame. He lied and said he was the one who had sent the three men to attack Nathan. That way, Nathan would stay away from him, and Nathan’s image wouldn’t be ruined. Nathan ended up hating Alex, and never saw him again for about 9 years.
