Because the industry is cuthroat and ruthless. Many webtoon authors are overworked to death, with lower pay than they should have gotten.
Making a chapter once a week is brutal. Every weekly mangakas and webtoon authors know this; hence their inevitable poor health. It's also unavoidable since publishers demand this performance.
So, it always make me baffled how many readers are just ignorant and being so impatient with their demand on new chapters. Basically they want the creators to die just for faster chapters, is that it?
At least, some understand, or understanding, like yourself.
Hope many authors have stable and better health.
Another example of this is the author of "How to Protect the Heroine’s Older Brother" having to take a break indefinitely due to their boss pushing them to the point of having a miscarriage.
I just read some info about her. My god, the miscarriage. How could they do that to her!? Those publishers are inhumane. This kind of max profit oriented companies never consider their employee as people with life and feelings. I hope some of them go to ruin.
