I am not judging ML, too soon for that. He does though fuel MC feelings. Whether he is aware of them I don't know.
Don't mess up our world frame with this imaginary one. In this one (alphas, fated pairs, pheromones) rules are different. Many things are metaphors (omegas are like women, when saying that they are sex toys, can't work due to "menstruation" or low physical strength and they are considered inferior). We do not have the concept of rut or pheromone in our word. ML is actually in fault for trying to change the sec sex of his friend and kidnapping him. I imagine that attacking an omega in heat if you are an alpha does not have a free pass, but if we compare with a drunken person having to pay for commiting a crime in our universe, in the omegaverse the omega "drunks" in a sense the alpha so things are perplexed. So ML is for sure responsible for a)how he treated his fated pair after the pairing b) how he treated MC afterwards. But when we read a story that has a different frame don't impose our current frame rules. For example a story which takes place in ancient china and the emperor has 1 wife and 3 concubines. "He is a cheater". That notion does not exist (at least for the emperor) at that frame. Religion, society and law expects him to have many women and many kids.
