I definitely got more hooked on the AU story, it was way more horrifying. If the author was going for a psychological horror bl the AU did it better. I also don'tbuy the "dating sim approach" BS, I'm sure Kendrick was meant to be the main love (lust) interest since the begining. And I honestly wouldn't mind that, if all the sex was consentual, but it wasn't

Congratulations to the mangaka for giving me the biggest emotional roller-coaster while reading a BL I've ever had. I feel like its was ESSENTIAL for this to be manga and nit any other form of media. The black and white panels gave it even more of a dramatic effect and the smut scenes couldn't have been better.
My thought process through this read was "Oh my god, this is so wholesome and the character designs kinda remind me of Nakamura and Hirose!! And some scenes also remind me of scenes in Go for it, Nakamura-kun! Oh- Shit- Nevermind, that got dark really quick- Oh wait, it was a metaphor for his lack of confidence and communication due to his childhood trauma.... Aww, they're so cute, they deserve the happy ending. This is so messed up though."
