I really think that this is veeery loosely based on the novel the piano student by Lea Singer that describes the real life relationship between Horowitz and Nico Kaufman. Although in this the traits and personality of Horowitz are broken into the characters of Heejay and Garam. Heejay also channels Rachmaninof and Garam Kaufman. The choice of the 3rd piano concerto is not by chance either. Rachmaninof stated that Horowitz played it better than himself. That said this is peak!
