But the vibes are a little different than what I had imagined ╮(￣▽￣)╭ Novel too gay for the production team
I’ve always seen this novel recommended along side other really popular Korean novels but always put it off because of the tags and cuz I’m so bored of the “Oh I reincarnated into a extra I better let the plot move on its own- wait- why is the plot changing from the original?!” Type of stories. But after catching up on the manhwa I can definitely see why now.
The biggest thing that appealed to me was the fact that the author didn’t find a 3rd way out of the whole brother situation. Normally story plots like that would get the protagonist to suddenly get a item or a skill that allows them to cure this demon thing and achieve a ‘everyone is happy’ ending for that plot point…but the author didn’t. He didn’t find a 3rd solution, everything the Mc planned to do in this plan came into fruition, there was no ‘happy accidents’ and I love that.
Also I love the ‘changes’ to the plot that the Mc experiences because they are all very realistic changes a reader would want. The goal of the ‘author’ and the goal of the ‘reader’ in this instance is very clearly different. The author(Mc) created the world around the OG mc and his crew while the new author did the opposite, they forced the protagonists to keep up with this new world instead of building around him.
And lastly, the thing that I love the most about this story is the characterization of the Mc. At first I thought he was another one of those ‘Know it all, can do it all’ type Mc and he kinda was at the beginning but what really separated him from those other mcs were his inability to choose and how it absolutely tore him apart. He wants to go home, he thinks he should go home, but that’s not what his heart is choosing and it’s confusing him. But if he doesn’t choose to go home his choices that he made here would probably squish him alive. And this is something that the author is doing well, allowing the reader to think and be conflicted about problems like these with the Mc instead of just providing a obvious solution that you know the Mc is going to choose.
Anyways, idk what the author is gonna do for later parts so maybe I praised too early or something. Novel time (づ￣ ³￣)づ
After catching up with the manhwa, I want to pick up where I left off in the webnovel. I'm disappointed in myself for dropping it in the first place with every chapter i read
I need more motivation because wtf was that plague arc?? #－.－) “Ah there’s a plague” 2 chapters later “Found a cure to the plague” also idk if this also happens in the novel(if it exists) the other two brothers just faded into the background and even merged into a single character serving the same purpose. The father is alright but I feel like we barely got any character out of him too. Everybody feeling more and more like tools to the mc’s reputation rather than actual family members. Idk if it’ll be different in the future and explain a bit why everyone fold over to her under 0 pressure(The most stubborn one was actually the tsundere brother funny enough) it’s like as soon as a good side character sees her they just get a automatic +50 on the relationship bar. Maybe I just missed a shit ton of information or I just don’t see the master plan that the author is cooking up. Anyways I need some motivation and reassurance to keep going (〜￣△￣)〜
it doesn't really feel like a child rearing manhwa anymore, I love watching the MCs grow, but this is a bunch of girlboss arcs
Right? The story feels like a big self-fulfillment power fantasy. A lot of the problems she had didn’t feel like problems at all. First it was the misunderstanding with the dad but that came to an end quickly, then it was the villainess little girl who didn’t even pose a threat at all(Honestly I think she could of had more of an impact as a threat if the dad continued to be this cold guy and the Mc didn’t need to go to him for quests), then the caretaker fraud situation that didn’t even feel like a mini arc and got solved way too simply , the first brother was ok but that second brother was all shown as this smart villain who’d do anything to be the family head but then became even less of a threat than the first brother?????? This manhwa reminds me of that water spirit king daughter girl Mc. I’m just looking for some reassurance that all of this is just some big plan by the author for all of this smooth sailing to hit back and become a actual problem for the Mc somehow in the future
I think that mother and daughter duo would of been a really nice arc and actually bring to question on why everyone around the Mc is unnaturally loyal to this little girl but no she just had to be that villainess little girl 2.0
The pacing is way too slow for me and I heard he doesn’t get the dragon lung until like wayyy later. While I don’t mind the whole ‘Fake it till you make it’ stuff(Lord of the Mysteries, Trash of the counts family, Ghost story- still gotta work) but just the way this story handles it makes me feel like these people are faking it almost- like it’s so engulfed in it’s unseriousness that there isn’t(So far anyways) any close to heart personal connections to ground the story with. Also I heard way later the story will do a whole lot of ‘promoting Korea’ ‘other country bad’ plot and while I have read stories that also do this kind of thing(S classes that I raised) this story just doesn’t have anything going for it that makes me wanna stay rn especially knowing what’s coming of the future (〜￣△￣)〜 I am open to debate because I do like the whole gimmick of the story but the way it’s handling itself rn feels repetitive and distant

It's a bit long before his alien self being found out, by our police girl, and by his sugar dad—I mean by that psycho S-rank. And the lungs episode go faaarr to chapter whatevers (ig around 400s or smth).
Though, it's slightly painful on the part of the og Kim Giryeo's life before death ╥﹏╥
Everyone has something wrong with them mentally and it isn’t something that is pulled up once for a sad story arc and the never to be seen again. Everyone’s problems are deeply rooted in their character. They don’t ‘fix’ their mental problems, they compromise with it then build upon it and I absolutely love that.
Gentle reminder that the fourth wall is a conscious being, and since Dokja already has his coat means this is definitely after the theater dungeon- meaning Simulation is also in there watching/reading
I can’t wait until they explore more on the topic of the fact that there are other reincarnates. Hopefully it won’t be another love rival plot (〜￣△￣)〜 the ML practically already sealed the deal, I don’t think we need another love triangle subplot
I love me a FL that does exactly what she wants to do, girlboss her way, AND be feminine. I just hope when he does reveal that he’s the emperor that the FL won’t pull some “But the saintness is your true salvation” type bullshit.
