I cannot express how much I love Julius. Literally so much of the story hinged on how much of an upstanding and wonderful person he is, I really want some side stories with him!!
Also, I loved the bond Julius had with his mother! Her trusting him to come back and him sacrificing everything for her and his family, ughhhh

Mc came to her place for a meating with a grand duke if i remember right because they were allies it was an ambush and the father fallowed him to let him know and they had the father murdered and fed the Mc poison to get him manic and make his memories go. Then the ML made a deal with the current chancelor/king that if the MC is not executed and kept safe at least he will go and fight the war.
