ruana was bitten by a snake -> basilisk resides inside fleta now, but fleta isn’t the true master, just the body that it inhabits, so it doesn’t listen to fleta’s desires, but i dont believe it can go AGAINST what she does desire, hence having to entice her to “join the dark side”. I just hope we can see some.. actual progress to this part so that everyone can just be happy :’)
