I believe religious companions are simply companions, there is a deep level of trust but there is no expectations for them to have children or deeper intimacy. it's on the religious level that they are as platonic but as withstanding as a parents unconditional love. AKA, these two just straight said they're going to share him in union.
and political is a larger difference that it's probably just for nobles where inheritance, financials, and lineage are of concern.

Is kinda like a harem but thankfully theres no beating around the bush or a "will they wont they" thing in here. Theres no FL might change her feelings by giving anyone a "second chance " / falling in love with one of em again... once the ML is introduced you already know he's going to be end game and the story will focus on those 2 as the romance aspect of it. The FL knows tht the rest of the potential love interest are Trash so dont worry, fortunately shes a well written FL

MC hatches a plan and even ropes in her grandfather in on it. More like, she says something along these lines, "So my cousin is eloping. Can you pretend not to know and be busy on this day?" Haha

For once, Lorraine takes matters into her own hands as she wholehearted accepts the plan. Avinox is more than happy to go with it too. Of course there's a few kinks to the plan but they do manage to leave in the end.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but these incideynt also catapults MC and Perez to enter into an 'engagement' so that both of them won't be roped into whatever plans Empress has coz she got pissed.

I think MC was a lil bit worried coz Lorraine doing this is literally cutting ties with Lombardi. She was potentially ostracizing herself because eloping was gonna put the family in a bad light. But, nah. Grandpa was all, 'She'll always be a Lombardi' which was a big deal. It was also great coz Lorraine knew her parents would disown her. But with Grandpa on her side (as well as the part of the family that was sane), she had very little to worry about.

lombardi family will pull away every resource that lombardi gave to the empire which caused the economy to collapse. lombardi is basically samsung family in korea. they hold the economy of the empire (▰˘◡˘▰)
