people mad as hell over a singular line of dialogue from a character we know NOTHING about. let’s start giving grace to female characters instead of immediate hostility.
ngl i enjoyed the past story much more than the present lol i do wish we had that as a standalone but this was really cute regardless
this was the very first yaoi anime i watched and i used to think it was the epitome of romance but now that i’m as old as/older than the teacher i can barely get through the first volume why in the world would he chase after a CHILD.
if this wasn’t presented under a romantic light, i’d have assumed that this was some sort of psychological horror where a dude gets rejected by another dude and so, in order to exact revenge, he pursues the dude’s younger brother and makes him fall in love with him only to eventually break his heart or something
the mangaka does an incredible job setting this up as a cute fluffy coming of age romance only to pull the rug at the last second in the first chapter. quite interesting!
i don’t think i could’ve stayed with a man who’d hit me if i denied him sex so i think youji should die ngl but also they need to break up and spend at Least 3 years working on themselves in therapy
with this story, i genuinely don’t think i’d be upset regardless of whether these two end up together or not. i think it’s an important character arc for both of them irrespective of the endpoint. where rihito’s dad steps closer into the queer circle and lets go of his discrimination. and juichi eventually finds some sort of happiness in camaraderie. this is such a lovely story.
can’t lie i really was expecting rou to drop yoshino for niko my god. but well, i’m glad it didn’t happen (<- guy who started rooting for a poly situation halfway through the last chapter)
getting a notification for this just reminded me how much the ending pissed me off like of Course the girl who spent the entire story being exclusively attracted to women and constantly reiterating that fact just randomly ends up marrying a man with absolutely no buildup? lmfaooooo. and to think this was one of my favorite mangas prior to that.

i mean i do like myself some toxic yaoi but how much must seth suffer because of these men that claim to "love" him only to end up hurting him irreparably. no matter what, seth ends up getting hurt and at this point it’s getting ridiculous like come on
the author’s so good at writing an engaging and loving relationship that i keep blushing and grinning everytime these two interact they’re soooo cute
i don't think i've EVER read a manga with an asexual character done properly, especially in a relationship since people usually tend to conflate asexuality with aromantic people as well. so lovely to see it handled well!
