i couldn't agree more. jiho is your best friend how could you leave him in the dark like that. If everyone knew a secret except me i would be heartbroken. It would be lowkey okay if jiho was is crush (i could understand that) but that's not the case. He even knows that he would accept him. so pissed off. (still gonna read it doe) :)

The fact that he acknowledges that jiho would be so supportive of him if he came out to him but still keeps secrets from him but tells everyone else is so sad. I feel so bad for jiho because he looks out for youngji so much but doesn’t get the same energy in return

I really see the story completely different tho’ ... For me He appreciates Jiho’a friendship so much that he is too scared to tell him and losing him as a friend (he even said so), he knows he wouldn’t judge him for being gay but it’s a different narrative cuz he’s in love with his brother so he doesn’t take it for granted and is being careful handling the situation..and a crush is just one part of your life, they go out and do many things together, the tell eachother about other things, they’ve been trough so many years of experiences but there’s just one thing he can’t tell him.

I think y’all are forgetting that this is set in South Korea which isnt as welcoming to lgbt. All of his secrets are related to his sexuality and it’s perfectly valid for him to not come out to his bff if he doesn’t feel comfortable yet.

Exactly!!! And it’s just his love life that he’s hiding which isn’t even the most important part of a friendship and to say that he doesn’t consider him a friend is so bizarre to me

Now onto my disagreement -
Anyone reading any yaoi, knows that usually homophobia can play a role, but did my comment mention that? No. My comment is talking about the FACT that Youngji keeps secrets out of his life, that could've been shared without mentioning said sexuality. He didn't share that he ever had a relationship, which he could EASILY have mentioned without mentioning the gender of the person. He also never mentioned having a friend who he knows so well that he lets him touch his face, which a friend of 15 YEARS wasn't even allowed to do? He already lied to Jiho that the guy is only a friend, so why could he not have done that sooner?

Next to that, throughout the chapters it has been repeatedly shown that Youngji always puts more effort and time into stuff related to Jiho's brother. In chapter 2, they go shopping to get Jiho some clothes, first thing Youngji does it finds clothes that are for the brother, seemingly forgetting why they were even there, to you know get clothes for your 15 year long ''bff''? In the end it didn't even seem like they bought anything for Jiho, and if they did it sure as hell wasn't thought through properly when the brothers gift was filled with passion.
And yes, that is a crush. But having a crush does not give someone the right to blatantly ignore their friend who you are with at the moment.

Next to that, the entire argument of the sexuality part is also very weak. Jiho's brother already knows, Jiho has also NEVER shown any sign of being judgemental, to the point that the male ''friend'' of Youngji that only met him ONCE immediately told Youngji that he should stop keeping so many secrets. A stranger who has never met Jiho could already see how ridiculous this situation is, all because of how shocked Jiho was when he saw Youngji letting a ''friend'' touch his face.

And lastly, being gay does not validate being a bad friend. If all you do whilst hanging out with your bff is thinking about their brother, keep secrets that aren't even necessary, keep more secrets from them then from your own crush, and even a person who just met your bff can tell this is not good? Then you are NOT a good friend. And someones sexuality is NOT an excuse for being a bad friend. And don't try to come at me calling me straight when I'm a closeted bisexual, a sexuality does not give you a free pass for being uncaring and having a million secrets even about just having another friend （￣へ￣）

Also, you mentioned in another reply to someone that its ''just'' his love life so it doesn't matter. If it didn't matter, he could have just shared that he had a lover and it ended, and just change the pronouns. If it didn't matter, he could've used that lie of the other ''friend'' he kisses with YEARS earlier but he didn't. If it didn't matter why hide it?

A friendship is 15 YEARS is not a casual friendship, especially not when you both agree you are supposedly ''bffs'' and both don't seem to have many other friends they hang with. A friendship is give or take, and Youngji is TAKE. It is toxic, and shows that he is very selfish and has taken advantage of Jiho's kindness. Again - if another guy has to tell you that YOUR ''bff'' looks to be confused and uncomfortable after 1x of seeing their face, and you never even noticed? Then you are not a ''bff''. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

And it could seem that way, however even in chapter 2 when they went shopping all he did was pick out clothes for Jiho's brother. Not even giving a sh*t about Jiho, when they were going for him. Next to that, he never mentioned having another friend who he's so close with that he could touch his face when a 15 year old friend can't. Even that friend immediately saw that he is hiding too much from Jiho, and has to explain that to Youngji. That is not a bff, if you can't even notice stuff like that and pay attention to how they might be feeling. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

And EXACTLY! So many of these secrets are unnecessary and could've been told way before, like that supposed ''friend'' he has, why not mention him sooner? And he KNOWS Jiho wouldn't mind and still had to have his other ''friend'' tell him that Jiho deserves to atleast know SOMETHING?? someone who doesn't even know Jiho could already notice that there's too much stuff being kept secret. Exactly :( If you know your friend of 15 years won't mind, and have to let another ''friend'' tell you to keep less secrets from that friend, is ridiculous. He even hid the fact that he knows another guy, even if that guy is someone he does sexual stuff with, he told Jiho it's a friend he has so why couldn't he do that earlier? It's all so ridiculous. As someone who doesn't like much physical contact, I completely understood what that meant. I honestly think hiding a fwb isn't a big deal, like I wouldn't think my friend is trash for not telling me. I said the love life didn't matter in the sense that if someone doesn't feel comfortable sharing that part of them with their BFF, it's completely fine. People are different and not discussing your love life doesn't make u bad friend. Also ur forgetting that Jiho's brother found out by ACCIDENT?!? And he doesn't even know that he knows?!? How is that the same. Also, all he did was think how cute the clothes would look on his crush that really is not something that makes u a shitty friend. I just find this so blown out of proportion, just remember that Youngji is kept in the dark of how much the siblings know as well, which u could argue is also a shitty thing(i don't but I'm just saying).

What? Jiho's brother literally says in Ch.4 that Youngji was dating someone, whilst Jiho was in the military. They are friends with benefits now but we still do not have the full context of what happened in the past. Maybe I forgot the part where youngji confirmed they never dated, if so then my bad. But from what I've read until ch.14 it has been established that they are currently sex buddies but the past is still to be disclosed.
But either way that's the entire reason why Jiho started realizing slowly how much secrets Youngji was keeping.

Also, if you have established with your friend that love lifes are a topic that you are not comfortable with then fine. In the story Youngji has NEVER established that, and instead just lies repeatedly to Jiho, who is asking about it and being open with his. Stuff like that is things that would be established YEARS earlier if that were true, and still after 15 years Youngji just lies instead of establishing that boundry. So that's not an equal comparison as they are very different situations.

For the clothes, I never said doing that automatically makes you a shit friend. But combined with literally everything else he does? It adds up. Comparing it to Youngji being ''kept in the dark'' isn't even CLOSE to the same thing, because literally anything Youngji asks of Jiho, he gets an answer too. Jiho asking Youngji ANYTHING? short answers, no answer at all or just a straight up lie.
It's similar to the fact that Youngji often times tries to meet Jiho in ways that also make him see his brother, and when the brothers not there only thinks of the brother. It shows little care of a friend, it's not a good trait.

Again, if Youngjis SEX FRIEND was able to tell within 1 meeting that Jiho was hurt and Youngji is keeping way too much secrets, and even had to EXPLAIN to Youngji how that would hurt Jiho? Then he clearly in 15 YEARS has not paid any proper attention to Jiho and his needs. A friend again - 2 way street not 1.

Also I literally said that in the story they clearly only have a small group of friends (if any) and hang out together 99% of the time. In those cases, yes, it is NOT normal to not know a friend, when you hang out 99% of the time, know eachother for 15 years, and have a small/nonexistent friend group.

Again, fine if you disagree, everyone has different opinions, but even the sex friend agrees with it in the story, so it's definitely not blown out of proportion lol ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Also find it odd how its ''valid'' for someone to treat their friend coldly cause of their own struggles, but its ''blown out of proportion'' for people to think Jiho is being treated like shit and deserves a better friend. Both should be valid.

With a name like that? I'd have to say middle eastern. I don't think it specifies where though. Just that he's a foreign prince. The Middle East is Western Asia though, so yeah either way works.

His name is clearly inspired my Arab/Egypt as well as the clothing so I'm pretty sure its middle eastern inspired~ the author just made up a new name like a lot of author because they just kinda mix different middle eastern stuff together so its not 1 specific country (⌒▽⌒)

Just wanted to point out that the Middle East is not just western asia as some countries part of the middle east are part of Africa! For example Egypt, Morroco and Libya and a few more. Its not a lot but just wanted to put that out there as some people don't know it ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

I just looked it up again and it did say royal family from southeast asia in chapter 2. I just find it interesting since I thought the author used Brunei as reference, but maybe also got the middle east mixed up. I still love the story though ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

I just checked Ch. 2 out again and I'm pretty sure she mixed both together but it does seem like Brunei yeah haha! I think its because the name is Arab inspired but Islam is big in Brunei which would explain that! The clothing the prince wears for pyjamas and the room designs are definitely more arab inspired though but in Ch.2 Page 6 he has an outfit on in the newspaper picture that looks South east asian. Its so confusing haha (￣∇￣") But thanks for pointing it out! Its pretty rare to see islamic countries that aren't part of the middle east, still love it! (▰˘◡˘▰)

Hahaha yeah (⌒▽⌒) I kinda got excited since I’m from southeast asia myself and we do have some muslim majority countries, so arab sounding names are kinda normal here. But I’m not really sure because their clothing in the manga also look like middle eastern, I don’t know if Brunei also use those kind of clothing or not.

I did know that islam is big in some South east asian countries aswell, but I didn't know about places like Brunei where even some buildings and clothes look similar haha! It's nice to learn about so thank you haha, now I have another new thing to look into~! (●'◡'●)ﾉ And yeah from what I could see about Brunei and their clothing, it's not the same as the one portrayed in the manga, but maybe the author just did that because it was easier to draw? The only outfit I saw that definitely was Brunei inspired was that one in Ch.2 P.6 of the image of the prince in the newspaper! But I think the author just decided the middle eastern clothing suited the basic idea of what she was going for and was maybe easier to draw which is why it comes off like a mixed mash haha! Exactly! it must've had a VERY significant meaning behind it or be worth a LOT if you imprison your grandchild + pay multiple guards to keep him there in a luxury house?? But it ended with no jewel and thats it, as if it never mattered. I wish the author just didn't add it if this was how its gonna be used （￣へ￣）
