I got so so so fuckin frustrated around the latter middle because I felt like it was an endless cycle, the story constantly became twisted, you have to pay attention so you don't get lost.
BUT HONESTLY WOW. I can tell a lot of planning went into this.
I'm not a huge fan of the evil vs good god concept but I honestly don't even mind in this case. I wanted that devil to perish so badly.
This story is really really dark and angsty, the romance boardering on obsessive and toxic even between the two leads, which I think was supposed to BE the point? Because the goal was freedom. She was being tortured because of the curse and she hates oppression.
MAAAAN. I like how in their search for room of Truth, we the readers keep unlocking more and more details, it gets really confusing sometimes because the timeline and flashbacks get jumbled up together but it's so interesting. To think a century has passed for the mansion, I think I know why but I don't want to give spoilers.
I almost gave up in the middle because I felt like the plot was dragging endlessly, that's my biggest critique, but I think it was all part of a bigger concept to tie everything together considering the theme of this manhua is curses and timeloops.
Basically, my take from this. Never make a deal with the devil.

Although it is interesting, I'd love to learn more about this stuff. Do athiests and agnostics exist in this world? Is there evidence of direct devine interference and involvement in this world? I wanna learn more.
They did say there are people who don't believe in this stuff so why did they jump from "they reject the scripture in the book" to therefore they're demoniacs and must worship demons/ they want all man-made order to be removed. That was like a huge jump that was not explained properly.

I don't know how I've managed to stumble upon this gem, the title wasn't really encouraging and seemed very cringy I thought I'd end up reading about a badboy ml and naive fl troupe but I was delightfully surprised. This will remain on one of my top fav manhuas, geniunely so heartfelt.
The setting heavily reminds me of ww1, it's basically anti-nobles and classicism from the perspective of a sheltered noble woman after her house fell and she realized her husband might've hated her all along (or did he?). It speaks on the importance of the decisions (and lack of them) that we make and the consequences we'd pay for it, communication, trauma, rehabilitation, healing and what it means to live.
The main couple went through a lot, there weren't any cringy cliche troupes from what I've seen which felt very raw and realistic, it's extremely refreshing. I've went through an emotional rollercoaster reading this, cried so much. Warning main couple were extremely toxic in the beginning as they each navigate that.
It's angsty, there are heavy themes on violence, suicide, self-harm, war, trauma and gained physical disabilities. If any of these are too triggering please reconsider.
Couple makes me think they'd make a wholesome old couple next door who'd randomly drop the most interesting lore on you one day.
Setting feels extremely nostalgic and bittersweet for some reason, there was no summary so I was expecting a fantasy setting but it seemed like the 1920-1930s I think.
Husband is built like a traumatized fridge wifu, fl is GORGEOUS and sweet, smart and extremely strong.
I hope they make and anime adaptation for this one day, but PLEASE for the love of everything CHANGE THE TITLE.
