ok this shit is emotionally concussing me. i went into it completely blind, stopped reading for a while because i was genuinely horrified by how bizarre and depraved it got, and then, against my better judgment, kept coming back. i'm just way too fascinated by juyeon as a character because, despite everything, i don't think his obsession with jiwook can be explained by revenge alone. sure, revenge explains the cruelty. it explains the humiliation, the desire for power, and the need to reclaim control after experiencing something so horrific at the hands of someone you once craved. there is even something almost cathartic about watching him pursue a form of justice(?) that many victims never get. yeah, his methods are monstrous, but they emerge from a wound that was never going to scab over. what revenge doesn't explain, though, is the fixation.
i'm starting to think this was never really about revenge, but about the target of that revenge: jiwook. honestly, the more i've thought about it, i realized that juyeon practically tells us this himself. he has admitted, in one form or another (in the novel), that he wanted to charm jiwook. he delayed his revenge because he wanted to continue living that life with him. he became furious when jiwook ran away, not because a plan had failed, but because he felt personally rejected. his anger often reads less like vengeance and more like wounded attachment. because after all, if revenge was all he wanted, why spend so much time trying to reshape jiwook instead of simply destroying him? i don't think juyeon is satisfied with punishment alone. he wants possession. he wants exclusivity. more than anything, he wants to become the person jiwook chooses. that's why so much of his behavior revolves around creating dependence, intimacy, and a sense of uniqueness between them. the point is never just suffering. the point is making himself indispensable to jiwook.
that's also why i've never fully agreed with the interpretation that frames the story as entirely loveless, even if this is definitely not my idea of love. because beneath juyeon's condescension, there are constant signs of admiration, fascination, and desire. he compares himself to a moth drawn to a flame. he recognizes jiwook's ability to captivate people. even while degrading him, he assigns him value, calling him a "hundred-million-won toy." there is obvious contempt there, but there is also a weird fucked up reverence???
also to me, juyeon's need to dominate jiwook comes from the fact that he cannot bear the alternative. if he doesn't control those feelings, they will control him. for him power becomes a substitute for vulnerability. possession becomes a substitute for confession. which is why i think the story is ultimately less interested in revenge than it is in what happens when love and resentment become impossible to separate. not because juyeon stops hating jiwook, but because his hatred becomes tangled up with desire. yes the grievance remains, but the person becomes more important than the grudge.
anyways, i’ll shut up soon, but my point is that what makes juyeon feel so tragically grotesque to me isn't just his cruelty or his willingness to perpetuate harm. it's the way his obsession slowly transforms him. in pursuing jiwook, he starts adopting parts of jiwook's worldview whenever it serves his own repressed desires. he bends his morality around the object of his fixation until the line between revenge and devotion almost disappears. i mean, is it ever worth wanting someone so badly that you reshape yourself around them? that you become a reflection of the very thing that wounded you in the first place?
yes i know this shit is probably pure goonery for the author (are they ok) and i probably shouldn’t be putting this much thought into it but i’m unemployed rn so it’s ok !
EDIT: when it comes to jiwook being subjected to the same kind of sexual violence involving multiple perpetrators that juyeon once experienced at jiwook’s hands, the intent on each side is fundamentally different imo. for jiwook, it functions as a way of dispersing blame, almost externalizing his own discomfort with his queerness and redirecting it through the humiliation of juyeon. for juyeon, it isn’t the mimicking of the trauma inflicted on him/revenge in the simple sense. it’s possession with the goal of isolating jiwook. juyeon never truly becomes “just another participant” in these acts. he positions himself outside the act while still controlling its structure, making sure that even when others are involved, he remains the only consistent presence within it. everything destabilizes around jiwook, but juyeon stays fixed. over time, that contrast begins to define their dynamic. because instability exists everywhere except where juyeon is, and that difference is manufactured by juyeon. without realizing it, jiwook is gradually conditioned to associate relief, safety, coherence, and even pleasure with juyeon alone. what looks like degradation meant to humiliate and break jiwook’s will to most people, is actually a slow narrowing of his world, until juyeon becomes the only place the experience ever resolves. they’re doomed together, and that’s their eternal punishment in this lifetime. ok i’m done fr now bye.
Damn the thressome idea would’ve been so hot if Muyeol didn’t SA Chani, now I can’t feel excited bc he’s such a creep ugh
“Critiques” love hating this manwha so much they attack people for enjoying it. That says more about them and their shitty character than the people who read and enjoy fiction. They are the same people who actually hurt the authors irl and send them death threats.
Can’t wait Dogmull said Garon will be the protag next season! I can’t wait for all the freaky stuff to come. We will prob have to wait 6 months to a year since the author this time wants to be more consistent with posting instead of frequent hiatuses. We will have to be patient guys
Most heteronormative shit I’ve ever seen. Always gotta go with the “uwu petite lil bottom KYAHHH!!!” And a big buff alpha bitch. Oh my godddd bruh.
Edit: only thing saving this shit is the bottom jaekyung fanarts I get so frequently on twitter. It’s so fun to see him humbled and getting his back blown out
Season 2 drops March 20th btw!! Let’s gooo! I’m so ready to get cancelled by more puritans in this comment section wooooohhh
Let me start by saying that everything Im sharing comes from spending many years on this site, observing patterns across multiple accounts, and reading user reports. Im not the dev, mod, or admin but Ive had experience with systems which is why I can answer your “whys” and “what ifs”
THIS IS THE SITUATION
Jan19 - Bto closes
⠀⠀⠀*start of traffic surge to Mgo
⠀⠀⠀*some features have slowed down a bit
Jan24 - Mgo goes down
⠀⠀⠀*caused by backend updates or overloaded servers
Jan26 - Mgo comes back up
⠀⠀⠀*site is online again but very buggy: missing lists, random logouts, slow pages, no notifications, etc
⠀⠀⠀*this is when the system started gradually restoring lists
WHY IS THE SITE SO BUGGY
- Mgo uses separate parts for different things. One to SAVE your manga data (aka database/the memory), another one to DISPLAY your saved Manga data (aka UI/what you see), and another one for your browser/session data (aka cookies, login state, etc/this also connects the database and ui). When everything is working properly, these three systems stay in sync (eg. when you save a manga, it will show up in your list right away)
The system will communicate with Database, like hey this is the user that logged in go tell UI the things they should display. So Database will tell UI, like hey based on what's given to me, these are the saved data that belongs to this user, these are what you should display. HOWEVER, because of the gradual restoring of lists (which puts a heavy load on the site), the System, UI, and Database are not able to communicate properly, so theyre not in sync. This is why we’re encountering the issues
I DON'T GET NOTIFICATIONS
- since the System, UI, and Database are not in sync, Mgo cant correctly link your acc to your saved mangas so notifs dont show up/update properly. This is temporary and should be fixed when the system is in sync again
WHY DO I KEEP GETTING LOGGED OUT
- Mgo keeps track of your login/session info. But if this isnt tracked properly, Mgo may log you out randomly/repeatedly
WHERE DID MY LIST GO
- Your mangas are not deleted. Theyre still saved in the database. Mgo is gradually restoring everyone’s list from the oldest to most recent marked mangas. Follow this post to get notified about updates: https://www.mangago.me/home/mangatopic/21092806/
WILL I GET MY LIST BACK
- YES. Do note that while your list is coming back, you might notice some things are off:
⠀⠀⠀*all mangas going into Already Read even if theyre originally marked as Want to read or Reading
⠀⠀⠀*deleted mangas showing up again
⠀⠀⠀*missing notes/summaries
⠀⠀⠀*only rated mangas showing for some users
(I can explain why but it will be too long for this FAQ. idk how to explain without sounding too technical so i might also have to explain the basic terms. You can ask in the comments if youre curious)
I ADDED NEW MANGAS TO MY EMPTY LIST, WILL IT OVERWRITE THE OLD ONE
- if you ADD NEW mangas while the site is restoring, your new list will stay. And your original list will be added back on top of it once its fully restored. But if you RE-ADD EXISTING mangas, it will update the original date of when the manga was added, tags, and summaries/little notes you originally had for it. its usually best to wait and let the restoration finish before making lots of changes
WHY DO OTHERS HAVE THEIR MANGAS BACK ALREADY, WHILE MINE IS STILL MISSING
- think of this like we're reading through a giant BOOK of everyone’s manga list, arranged by the exact time each manga was added (aka timestamps). Each timestamp is like a page in the book, and we read them from the oldest timestamps to the newest. Right now, we are reading timestamps from Feb 2022 (as of writing this post), so any timestamp dated later than Feb 2022 wont appear YET
If your lists are still completely EMPTY, there are 2 possible reasons:
One is that its about “activity”, not account age. So even if you joined in 2016, but you didnt add any manga until 2023, your list wont appear until the system reaches the timestamps for 2023. The second reason is, since the system is very busy right now, it sometimes hits a blurry page and has to skip to keep moving. This doesnt mean your data is gone. It just means the system needs to go back for a second run once the "main reading" is done
HOW SOON WILL THEY COMEBACK / WHEN IS THE RESTORATION EXPECTED TO FINISH
- how soon your lists fully comes back depends on how far along we are in the “book” and how many timestamps we still need to read. If yours already started to appear again then thats a good sign. it means your account is already in the queue and the rest should continue to come back (gradually, not all at once)
If theres another run, expect anywhere from a few extra hours to about one extra day. A full second pass could push it to Feb 4–5, but a partial cleanup run would likely finish around Feb 2–3.
IS THERE A WAY TO EXPORT MY LIST
- heres one way to export your lists: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14Drj0CviUhrAmZlU-DC-AtxGFQoH1_PYQ81b2Vzu82w/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.acjitdw8v0h thank @Gurl for this solution by following/sending them a message. This is their account: https://www.mangago.me/home/people/3402357/home/
IMPORTANT: WHEN TO CONTACT SUPPORT
- PLEASE WAIT. Do not email the devs yet. The system needs to make several runs to load everyone's data correctly. Most of the current issues should fix themselves after the full restoration process is done. Give it at least 2 weeks from now.
If after everything finishes and youre still seeing clear errors in your marked mangas, report them to [email protected]
If possible, keep a small log of your observations and what you did, such as:
⠀⠀⠀*whether you re-added, edited, or deleted mangas during restoration
⠀⠀⠀*any repeated issues (random logouts, missing notifs, errors, etc.)
⠀⠀⠀*the other specific errors you noticed
Simply put, keep a log of WHAT YOU DID/OBSERVED and WHEN (use GMT or if in your local time, specify your timezone). The more specific your report is, the easier it is for the devs to trace what went wrong. It helps them replicate your actions so they can actually find and fix the problem
Here's an example log:
2026-01-26 9PM: I noticed my list went missing
2026-01-28 2AM: my list is restoring up to 67
2026-01-28 9PM: I added 10 mangas to my Already Read
2026-01-30 6PM: my restored mangas is stuck at 67
2026-01-31 10AM: my list count is increasing again. It restored up to 83
2026-01-31 7PM: I added 3 mangas to my Want to Read
EDIT TO ADD: Youre welcome yall (i cant reply to each one of you youre too many ) Im just glad I could help clarify things! Ask away if you have more questions so I can keep updating this community-notes for everyone! (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

i see a lot of people are confused with what’s going on so i thought i’d try to explain what’s happening. i’ll also cite chapters so you guys can follow along if it comes confusing. i might over explain every detail so i apologize !!
G, Glenn, is a former researcher from the center. he is the junior researcher of Q, Quentin. he was reassigned to Mr A’s Farm sometime before Mr A disappeared. in chapter 24, we are told that Glenn is actually the one who created the hybrids and his first test subject that he infected was M2, Milo — the son of Milton. Milo was also the patient of Kendrick, who worked at the same hospital where Milo was admitted (do you see the connections?).
throughout season 1, Glenn consistently has adverse reactions to the human livestock exhibiting animal-like behaviors (Kendrick laying eggs, Milton being milked, etc). however, in chapter 24, this unease escalates into outright rage when Glenn witnesses the human livestock growing comfortable in their dual existence as both animal and human. some farmhands stop wearing items that covers their ears, hooves, tails, etc and tells Glenn they don’t need a cure anymore and they like how things are.
Glenn begins to blame Little A, whose treatment of the farmhands as ordinary people, rather than as “patients” or “mistakes” has allowed them to accept their condition. Glenn resolves to “fix” what he believes he should have ended long ago. his solution is extreme, to kill Little A. as he originally kicked out Mr. A and attempted to drive Little A away so he could focus solely on developing a cure to return the farmhands, especially Quentin, to “normal” as the cure is his atonement for creating the hybrids in the first place.
Quentin stops Glenn from killing Little A in front of Milo and gently coaxes him to go back to his lab, which Glenn does in a daze. upon remembering that Quentin has the syringe and his conditioning compels him to keep “helping” others, even when that help turns violent, Glenn runs out to find where Little A and Quentin is as he’s afraid Quentin will end up killing Little A, which is not what he was actually trying to do. Glenn also reveals that he has to ‘break the love’ Quentin has for humans through violence, physical harm, isolation or verbal abuse. otherwise, the conditioning imposed by the Quentin Project will only intensify.
Glenn finds Little A and NPC talking. NPC reveals that Mr. A came back to the farm and told Little A that his uncle said Little A should be sent far away from the farm. Quentin shows up and stabs NPC in the neck while Glenn narrates that Quentin is completely insane and is designed to experience compassion that goes beyond the ordinary human aka he’s a psychopath. Quentin then tells Little A that he’d help him become the farm manager as they’re the only ones in the world that can understand each other because they’re the only two who survived the Quentin Project.
Little A (real name currently unknown) and Q (Quentin - pig-human hybrid) are the two last surviving members of the Quentin Project. the Quentin Project was a correctional program to help people who have ASPD (antisocial personality disorder) assimilate into society by managing behaviors and thought patterns deemed harmful or maladaptive. people who are diagnosed with ASPD have symptoms of disregarding others, impulsivity, lack of remorse or empathy, and aggressiveness (this is what google told me, i am NOT a psychologist or psychiatrist).
because individuals with ASPD are commonly characterized as lacking empathy and remorse, the Quentin Project attempts to “correct” this by conditioning its subjects to exhibit compassion. however, this ‘compassion’ is not genuine empathy. it manifests as an overwhelming, compulsive need to be useful and to serve others, even against the subject’s own desires. the effects of this conditioning are clearly shown through Little A. across multiple chapters, he is excessively eager, even obsessive i might argue, to assist Milton (milking) and Kendrick (laying eggs), to the point that he overrides their boundaries and disregards their consent. sometimes he even mentions that he doesn’t know what comes over his body and ‘blacks out’, similarly to Quentin telling Glenn that his body isn’t ‘forcing him to help others’. Little A even mentions that his parents kept him away from society and homeschooled him (chapter 12), how his parents never let him raise animals (chapter 5), and even has a flashback of him as a child sitting with a lamb with fur around him, alluding that he was plucking fur from the animal (chapter 11).
if you need me to explain anything else, please ask and i’ll try my best!!

Damn not even Indominatable Champion got this many hate comments when it depicts arguably worse and even more graphic/traumatic scenes. Rape, murder, torture etc.
But fr don’t yall get tired of complaining about this story? Like pick a new hobby…
All you morality police are fucking hilarious hypocrites. Acting like you are above others for reading this when you are also on an illegal site… you really think you’re morally superior when you read paid stories for free illegally? XD Get out of here with that shit
