ML learned that someone had switched his pills during his rut. Four years prior to the event, his rut became abnormal, so he always stayed alone in a villa. However, he didn’t know that during those four years, he actually had a rut partner. He always thought he simply slept through it with the help of sleeping pills.

During MC’s escape from Baek Sunghoon, the secretary (the one who planned everything), ML became suspicious that Baek might have been involved in MC’s past as his rut partner. Fast forward to after reuniting with MC, ML connected the dots between MC’s past, his fear of darkness, and his fear of closed doors, all of which pointed back to Secretary Baek.

So, ML called some people and lied that he was entering rut and needed to go to the villa. At the villa, he pretended to take the pills given by the caretaker and went to bed. After a few hours, MC entered the room even though he was supposed to be staying at the hotel instead of the villa.

They didn’t sleep together. Instead, MC simply stayed beside ML and eventually fell asleep while ML pretended to be asleep, though he was dying inside after learning the truth.
