i might be wrong, but i actually tested it out by localizing a chapter once. when i compared it to desire scans', it was word-for-word the same. i don't think they even bothered to polish it or make it sound smooth (it happen for the other 2, but kaizen sometimes getting better, and probably the other 2 as well, idk

their translations are very messy and sometimes takes away completely from the original message it was trying to convey

Without huge visual cues or the original text to compare, there's no way to be absolutely 100% sure – but, tbh, the first big clue here is they are not evn a scan group. They share even official uploads and offer digital currency; literally paid pirated content. There is no reason a scummy business like that WOULDN'T use AI for their translations.

Another big clue is when little to no SFX gets translated; especially when the font is rotated in any which way (or handwritten in any way - both make it harder for OCR). Localized SFX sometimes is hard to come up with, but an actual translator would know they matter enough that they can't simply be skipped altogether.

There's also a lack of care in the consistency in their that an actual long running scan group (at least big enough to have a site) would never show.

And all that being said, the usual thing you'd notice is weird phrasing. This one here is not that egregious, but if you could look at other uploads and see they hae highly different levels of quality, that's another tell. Sometimes you just get lucky with AI and things pass unnoticed, sometimes not. This is my first time seeing an upload from them tho so I can't speak on it much

I always thought it was weird that desiree would upload the chapters on multiple titles before other groups like kaizen and mythtoons. It was only recently that I genuinely noticed how there is absolutely ZERO translated SFX tbh now I wait for kaizen or mythtoons who actually bother. This is a good insight on the situation Im definitely with the crowd that says this is AI

I just did. It's good. The art style is all over the place. There are characters that look like other characters from other manhwa. Certain scenarios seem pulled straight out of other manhwa, but jt does gain it's own footing eventually.

I would recommend u to read about white saviour trope/narrative

Its the way the story props up the white mc as a "good slave owner" as well as his family. All the whiles propping up the "romance" aspect in using the slaves as a foil to it. I might add the sht sorry excuse of the Native design.

I believe it was sarcasm, but that still doesn’t negate the fact that it’s extremely inappropriate to say when “his people” are actively facing a genocide and enslavement. It’s extremely tone deaf. Do you think a Korean woman would joke about calling herself a comfort woman to a Japanese Imperialist soldier? I think not…

for SURE tone deaf!! I originally thought the last line of him being a slave was a disgusting one liner never to be spoken again after the scene. After reading the synopsis it was made clear to me how exactly this was racist. Im so ashamed of jaxx :(

It is definitely tone deaf. Im unfortunately used to poc making self deprecating jokes about the terrible things their people are going through (I am guilty of this) so originally just brushed it off as a gross one liner. I read the synopsis and it became clear that its way more than that and he literally labels himself as his slave. So ashamed of jaxx
