Ew.
I'm never one to hate on another person's work but to bring back a story that ended well FOUR years ago only to kill it DEAD, is appalling.
It's nothing like the OG story atp. Everyone's acting out of character. This is a nightmare.
I don't want to read this anymore but I also want to know how far the author's going to take it :/
Dang. In the novel, when Lorena and Mig meet again, they run away and hide in a random warehouse and have sex. More like Mig wanted her real bad. <Insert very spicy scene> before she goes back to Vaye to "settle things".
Also, Lorena doesn't immediately let Mig know the baby is his. It takes a couple of weeks before she finally tells him flat out.
Mig was a champ throughout though, because even though he misunderstood the baby was Vaye's and he genuinely hated the fact, he cared for Lorena so well. I wish the manhwa didn't water things down so much.
In the novel, Lorena was afraid of letting Miguel know it is his kid because she wasn't sure he wanted to have kids in the first place? She was afraid of being rejected by him or baby trapping him ig?
I feel you about how frustrating misunderstandings can be especially when it's dragged out. It's so stupid.
The author posted this comment on Naver on the 6th of March 2026:
"Hello, readers. This is author Seungwoo. It has been a long time since I last posted. I apologize for the delay. I thought it would have been better to post an announcement after setting a definite serialization schedule, but I was worried about the readers who have been waiting, so I am sending my regards this way. My health has recovered to some extent since the hiatus. However, resuming the manuscript was more difficult than I expected. I felt strongly that I could not upload anything unless I produced a result that I could personally accept. It was a difficult time for me, too, wondering why it was taking so long. During that process, I also felt pressured by the fact that my wavering was felt by my assistants and those around me. I have been working to regain my work rhythm while undergoing counseling, and fortunately, I have now reached a state where I can continue working. I plan to resume serialization around the second half of this year. I will provide an update on the exact schedule as soon as it is confirmed. Thank you for waiting so long. Your words saying that you are still waiting for the story gave me great strength."

Sol's aide gets in contact with Ian while he's being transported in a carriage with his hands bound behind him. Long haired freak shows up, taunts Ian. Ian has a tiny blade on hand which he uses to escape the bindings and lunges at long haired freak, successfully managing to grab his sword. Ian seems to have recalled memories from his past life, awakens his powers, destroys the carriage, kills(?) long haired freak and rescues Sol who was also being transported in another carriage.
I'm not clear about what happens after: but Ian heads to to kunabula(?) by himself, leaving Sol with his aide. Sol wakes up and follows after Ian with some of his people(?) The blonde and his army start a war(?)
I can't read KR, but this is what I surmised from the raws. Please take everything with a grain of salt ( ̄∇ ̄")
The art is so stunning I'd be so upset if it ever changes like it did in secret lady.
Nora, you gorgeous mf! (ノ*0*)ノ
Wow. Anyone with a pair of eyeballs can tell the illustration style of both manhwa are as different can be.
It amazes me how confidently people spread misinformation. The illustrators belong to the same studio CARROTOON, which publishes on Kakao.
Secret lady is credited to 'banana & angato'
A stepmother's marchen is credited to 'ORKA & Cat and spice' (The latter in both cases being the authors of the og novel)
Also, please don't put words in my mouth. I never used the word "deteriorate", you're probably projecting because you think it has infact deteriorated <3
I didn’t say secret lady and a stepmother’s marchen had the same artist. I already knew they were different artists.
I was referring to what you said about secret lady. You said the art changed in secret lady. Hence me saying, the art is still by the same artist as it was in the beginning and looks beautiful.
My bad, I misunderstood and thought you meant both manhwa were illustrated by the same person.
Secret lady's art did change though. While the colouring is fantastic as ever, the artist seems to have made changes to the way they sketch line drawings. The proportions are off. Rose and her lookalike's face's especially.
They have massive heads, tiny pointy faces. It's worlds apart from what rose looked like in season 1.

Those of you who feel for Vaye should better hope you don't meet someone like him irl.
The man murdered her entire family ffs and locked her up in a monastery. Thatis not love.
Whyyyy the fuck would any sane person want him? You cannot fix him. If he was fixable the author would've done that. Vaye is a pathetic character. That is his purpose.
One could argue those were the crimes of Vaye in his previous life and he's trying to redeem himself... How exactly is he trying to redeem himself? By keeping his guilt to himself and keeping Lorena in the dark? By assuming what's best for her without asking her input? By not apologizing to her or even thinking of it? He could cry and grovel at her feet for years + hand over his entire fortune and then some and it still wouldn't be enough. This man broke her in every possible way just because he was so obsessed with her he wanted her alllll to himself.
Remember, the perp can apologize and repent but it's upto the victim whether they want to accept it or not. Forgiveness is not owed.
I agree with u. At some point, I was like "oh he's handsome and dominating" BECAUSE ITS JUST A STORY. Visual wise, he looks good yes but that should not be the reason to like him huhu
Exactly.
And there's plenty of goodlooking fictional characters who are like trash wrapped in glittery paper.
