I’d like to believe the novel readers when they say that it’ll all be different when Gjord comes back but how will his comeback not fall entirely flat after all the abuse (torture porn is totally on point for this story sadly) we read.. Hard to imagine any plan, any goal, anything that’s supposed to be done out of love to be worth it after everything, but I guess and hope he does everything this way because he knows better than anyone that it would’ve been what Sylhan would’ve wanted.
Last comment on this story let’s remember some of the things TJ has done that everyone like to forget : he broke Ian’s leg which ruined his motor cross dream and sponsorship and opportunity to escape the gang, he made him deal with drugs to pay for a debt with interest he put him in, he put him in prison for 2 years by sending his subordinate to assault him ending up in Ian killing him for self defense which also made him suicidal because of the guilt, got mad at Ian for reclaiming his own rapist’ name and made it about himself, he used his ugly scar to guilt trip Ian, has insulted him and been a brute physically, for example by shoving him to the wall or punching him, or calling him a sinister guy behind his back to his homophobic gang members, which reminds me he was seeing women and being down low but would stop Ian from seeing men in private, he also sent guys to assault Jo ending up with his fingers broken because he was close to Ian because he stalks him, overall he did everything to keep Ian in a violent, traumatizing, homophobic gang because he’s hungry for power even though they both had opportunities for better lives (tj with a foster family, ian with his motorcross dream he could’ve been sponsored for) and more outside of the obvious crimes he committed in the gang and that I have forgotten. He also never apologized once or admitted/acknowledged anything, he kept penetrating Ian even when he was told to stop or slow down (this is for the moralist who call a certain character a rapist when tj is factually one), and at last had told Ian he’d beat him and drag him back to him against his will, how romantic. An angel, really, I wish we had seen his character development, because we sure hear about it but haven’t seen any of it!
Finally, I think that what sums up their relationship very well is their previous main reunion : stinky rough toilet sex laced with a meaningless discussion and getting shoved to the wall. They’ll never have any romanticism, any symbolism, just +20 years of misery and that’s what they deserve to be remembered as. Y’all’s fav couple I guess, I hope you all find your own TJ irl
DO YALL NOT READ THE STORY IJBOL ??? IM CRYING WHAT THE FUCK ???
he didn't intentionally break his leg, but sure ok i dont mind people blaming him for that. HE DID NOT SEND HIS SUBORDINATE TO ASSAULT HIM ????? THAT WAS IANS SUBORDINATE TJ HAD NO HAND IN THAT ????? he was slapping yangji & ian inserted himself in between ?? HE DID NOT SEND MEN TO ASSAULT JO LMFAOOOOO THAT WAS YANGJI IM CRYING BRO WHAT. also like this is so crazy to me bc I would never wish for people who like ian to end up with a murderer irk or people who like jo to end up w a rapist irl so hoping for real people to be harmed over fictional characters shows how fucked up u are ngl.
Don't try with them
JO's fans are going haywire, they are unreasonable and toxic asf, and if u just try and check theirs comments or favourite manhuas / webtoon u will find that they r the supporters of ra*pist / murd*ers tops all around here
They r trying so hard to seem calm and reasonable but they r just sore losers with soo much hatred and ugliness
yeah yall fucked in the head. in case u aren't, please report how a jo green flag landi fan is currently doxxing doyak, a real person, over fiction. their username is @bloominglotus01 on twitter, u can email [email protected] with screenshots. let's protect a real person from harm instead of advocating for imaginary ones.
"it’s incredible how y’all can’t refute anything he’s done/his responsibility," we have read the story with our eyes and brain, why would we even try to refute the story lol
It's as if you were saying "it's incredible how y'all can't prove he is a green flag" duh obvisouly because he was never one.
I'm sorry but you proved everyone you didn't understand the story the moment you wrote "his motor cross dream".
yeah i misread it entirely by expecting the story to not be about ian having no growth, no dream or aspirations, he existed to be tj’s personal plaything and never break free from the cycles, i read too much into this dark gang story and the many moment of hopefulness, the great message is that your abuser can be the love of your life, very mature and deep
y’all can keep pretending a good half or quarter of the story doesn’t exist en masse, it won’t change the narrative the author herself created, but i know you scroll past when tj doesn’t show up let alone when #he does, im sure you’re fine with the many plot holes and how mediocre this last season has been as well
“he didn’t do any of what you said” lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooo he DID call him a prick he DID see women and forbid him to see men he DID punch him he IS responsible for his broken leg he DID put him under financial debt WITh interest because he’s cruel and didn’t want him to have an easy honest life, he DID say he’d beat him up and bring him back and more, he is vile and you all goon over him because he’s a sad ass cliche tattooed thug incapable of empathy and growth
not a prick, a syndicalism guy lmao** something that YOU GUYS harassed doyak over to the point they changed the first translation, we’ve seen tj insult him once casually and probably did it more bc he’s never respect him or his agency, but that’s wha ian deserves if he keeps going back to him i guess
Just accept you're the one who were deluded by what you wanted to see and ignored the facts.
Let me do the reading comprehension for you :
he broke Ian’s leg : it was his fault but TJ did not break Ian's leg. Also he never wanted Ian to have his leg broken, he only wanted Ian to miss the bike competition.
which ruined his motor cross dream : did you not read the part where Jason heavily suggested Ian to do it ?? Jason did not look at Ian in a friendly way when doing so. The man wanted Ian out of TJ's sight, and wished to at least make them fight but he failed
and sponsorship and opportunity to escape the gang : Jason said Ian would be able to ride bike again after his injury was fully healed because he was still young and good at it but never did it again
he made him deal with drugs to pay for a debt with interest he put him in : valid. Let me add it resulted in the police arresting the drug dealers, so yes TJ made Ian deal with drugs to help the police arrest drug dealers.
he put him in prison for 2 years by sending his subordinate to assault him ending up in Ian killing him for self defense which also made him suicidal because of the guilt, : this chapter was all about Ian's subordinate subjecting to the gang life environment, TJ never asked that guy to kill Ian
got mad at Ian for reclaiming his own rapist’ name and made it about himself, he used his ugly scar to guilt trip Ian, : valid.
has insulted him and been a brute physically, for example by shoving him to the wall or punching him, : wrong
calling him a sinister guy behind his back to his homophobic gang members, : Chiwoon and Yangji are not homophobics. They even support TJYW relationship. And all he said was that Ian was gloomy how is that talking behind his back lol
which reminds me he was seeing women and being down low but would stop Ian from seeing men in private, : forgive the man for being bi, Ian also went out with girls, and Ian slept with other men too.
he also sent guys to assault Jo ending up with his fingers broken because he was close to Ian because he stalks him, : it was Yangji's own decision
overall he did everything to keep Ian in a violent, traumatizing, homophobic gang because he’s hungry for power : it's to keep Ian by his sides, not because he's hungry for power. How is Ian helping him gain power lmao Also Ian stayed on his own accord too, because he didn't want to leave TJ
even though they both had opportunities for better lives (tj with a foster family, ian with his motorcross dream he could’ve been sponsored for) : TJ didn't want a better life, he has always wanted a life with Ian in it. Again, motorcross competition was never Ian's dream.
People with reading comprehension never said TJ was a green flag, and we all acknowledge his flaws.
If you read the story with your brain you would have seen his development.
i actually like the reply bc if im wrong so be it, i can accept that! i can’t agree with the motorcross thing, if it’s not a dream at least it was an opportunity, for the power thing = he didn’t gain anything from ian being here but didn’t give up on this entity that gave him power at any point for a more with ian, who rejected the gang, the leg thing is a way of speaking, he’s responsible for it he didn’t beat him with a bat, for the physical part— tj is a brute and i’ll always hand by it, tj is bi cool, idc, he shoved his flings down ian’s throat while getting mad if ian did see men while in the gang, are we forgetting that? he’s an obsessive stalker, the gang as an ENTITY is homophobic with homophobic members, they have called ian homophobic names and tj didn’t care bc he could never be affected by that since he was down low, the prison thing was done by TJ and it’s heavily implied you don’t even need tot read between the liners for that, and it’s not that surprising of a thing knowing he’d do quite anything to keep ian under his hand, anyway, ‘tj didn’t want a better life he wanted one with ian’ and ian wanted a honest life out of the gang but tj doesn’t respect his choices and his agency. the one thing i agree with is that tj is a red flag and ian is a grown man and he chose tj, but then he’s a fictional character and the message is : if an obsessive man who ruined years of his life coms back with tearful eyes and 0 apology, be his doormat lover
You could have talked about every bad things TJ did and why you don’t like him, but instead you made a lot of things up to justify why you think the ending is trash.
The bike competition was never his dream. Period. Don’t bring the fact he could have left the gang thanks to it to hide the fact you were wrong about Ian’s dream.
Same thing with the rest of what you said.
Your answer screams “I was wrong about my interpretation on some things on the story but let me tell you why TJ is bad” ( ̄∇ ̄")
I have nothing more to say
this is me being intellectual honest about SOME things while you’re being an immature bum, as usual from tj stan’s, there’s no point being slightly normal with y'all, you’re all incapable of accepting that you’re entirely biased and refuse to hear that you are misreading things about your 40yo dl convict. tj is still a violent, abusive, gaslighting, manipulative criminal who didn’t grow at all and got with a disney channel ending bc he’s irremediable, no side stories either bc their future will be bleak and miserable
If the story is mediocre to u , why r u reading it ?
Why all this analysis especially on TJ personality lol u r too invested in this " mediocre " work lol
Way to go sore loser , are u still rambling? U r not ashamed or embarrassed? U r brainless
U don't even make sense, at this point I think its another version of wet sand u did read lol
The concept of this story ending with Ian, the main character, not slightly growing/healing and going back to point 0 by going back not only to the homophobic gang members who never liked him and his manipulative abuser but confessing first, paying for their house and waiting for this mass murderer to finish his prison sentence (somehow only 2 years?), like on top of everything ian is doing all the work? what was all that talk about this not being the life Ian wants, about choosing himself at last, about no going back to how things were, about being an honest man living an honest life ? Where’s the growth? Why did Jo, Ian, Toby (she lost her baby ffs), Chris and many more suffer while tj didn’t even once face any consequences minus the ridiculous short time in jail, which is the bare minimum for all the lives he ruined ? Hell Jo and Ian even saved this almost 40 years old man’s life before, he’s been narratively protected every time and for what? Why didn’t tj work his ass off for ian, why didn’t he apologize even once, why didn’t he admit everything he did to ruin him, why didn’t we see an ounce of his development, why did we only see them go back and forth and fuck for 100 chapters without resolving communication or genuine affection? Just because they’re this dark and complex trauma bonded pair, who don’t need words or actions to prove their undying toxic love? How can one betray their own writing to make tjian turn out to have a good/happy ending and not the miserable cycle of pain and abuse it has been portrayed as and still IS, which would’ve been narratively more accurate? What will Ian continue to be but Tj’s isolated and personal sextoy and emotional punching bag as he’s been for 20 years? A joke is what it all is
how did ian go back to the "homophobic gang members who never liked him" when said homophobic gang members are dead? chiwoon and yangji are not homophobic. & wdym why did chris suffer he was litr the biggest piece of shit ever? did u even read the story? and wdym ians been tjs sextoy for 20 years when they were litr 15 when they met 20 years ago? so much more wrong too but that depends on how u interpret the story & we clearly do it differently so not gonna argue on that, but considering u have the very basics of the story wrong ummmm. yeah.
I loved reading wet sand and still think that it's an amazing story overall, with beautiful art as well, but I agree completely with your comment. If this is really the ending, it makes absolutely no sense at all. And not because I liked Jo more, but for the writing from the beginning to nearly the end. TJ did so many bad things to Ian... He had to give up his dream of motorbikes for the "accident" he had because of TJ where he even broke his leg, just because TJ didn't want him to leave. He kept the scar on his face just so Ian could feel guilty and not leave him. There's a full chapter (81 or 82 if I'm not mistaken) where the two of them discuss about that. TJ was just overall manipulative to him and never once did something Ian wanted, all for power and glory. Ian endured all those years of prison because of TJ. Him returning with him cancelled everything we read until now, nothing changed. TJ had no redemption arc whatsoever. He just found everything ready, a house to go to, just because Ian did it. Jo deserved better, and Ian as well. I understand that toxic relationships are not easy to overcome, even more after 20 years, but here I expected the opposite to happen after everything we read. There was absolutely no growth, it would've had more sense just Ian leaving and being alone. I never write comments anywhere, but I had to say something about it.
you jays what I pick my arguments carefully lmao. Most of the people who are angry with this ending didn’t actually understand what they were reading. The read this with hopes and dreams of Jo being the one regardless of who Ian and TJ were as individuals. They made a list of mistakes and flaws and compared it to Jo’s list of flaws and decided that there was only one path the story should take, regardless of what the characters have always shown they wanted and strived for.
we have to believe that as an ex gang boss will not be involved in the gang (systematically homophobic, with homophobic members) ever again? we’re not getting side stories bc there’s no actual peaceful future for them, chris was a pathetic man who was suffered from his choices, tj never did, you don’t want to talk about their first time and yeah i do believe an abuser like tj sees his plaything as a sex object since the start
I can feel how young some of you are by comments like these. The man is 34-35. His character growth began in season 2 and finished in the time before the 2-year timeskip. Some of you miss that he has character growth because you were flooded with so much flashbacks that you got stuck in the past instead of seeing the characters for who they were currently.

God awful ending but at least Jo looks happy, full of light and beautiful doing what he loves and surrounded by people who love and cherish him ♡
