Did they legit use a homeless child as a plot device for the king to be like
How much has she been abused and toss the kid away without helping him?
True but i meant, usually other manhwas would mention that they helped the kid out from the streets or stuff like that- yk maybe get them into an orphanage but in this one the last you see of the kid is when they said goodbye and from the looks of the panel the kid doesn’t look like he was helped in any way other than being stopped from being hit which don't get me wrong is good but for a king and queen who has a power to help but walk away from a homeless child rubs me the wrong way especially if its just for a plot device, just my opinion tho! Im not trying to be political or all that stuff, i just wished there were better ways it could be shown where the kid was actually helped
I’m sure in the novel it goes into more detail abt the orphan child. I did think it strange that the author didn’t pursue the usual trope, but I can definitely understand that the details don’t suit this particular story that well imo; plus, it’s overrated. This story itself is pretty original , adding that type of plot would through it off. Realistically speaking, they did what a king and queen would do: help the citizens briefly, politically, but not deeply. They’ll prob be seen as too softhearted or whatever. Maybe I’m bias since this story is just so great, a homeless/orphan child troupe wouldn’t have been a great addition
Novel reader here. The novel does not go into detail about the homeless kid. But as you said, we don't lack interesting plot to go too deep into the side plot of taking care of a homeless kid. The purpose of their outing was to appease the soul of hailey and see if she was still in this world, while we were at that, author tried to flash light on a part of lee jae's real self. To give roderick a few more hints about her. Even if it wasn't shown explicitly, I'm sure they helped the kid. There were many knights in the escort team so one of them may have taken the kid to some facility that cares for the homeless. The kid may have stood there on purpose to say goodbye to their saviour. It doesn't mean they just left him there. But i also won't deny that he was used as a plot point.
Oh definitely, i agree with both of you! I just wanted one panel to of that kid in an orphanage or something like that, i didn’t mean anything deeper than that but yep i don't want an orphan adopting story too, it just felt out of place for hailey to care for a child but also leave them there to fend for themselves but as you said, the knights probably helped offscreen i just wanted to see it in a panel if that makes sense
Honestly LMAOO this is kinda on brand with them being idiots in love I was about to be sad then kihoon is already there simping unprompted HAHAHA im guessing he is gonna remember by the end of this or imma have to square up with whoever approved of this
On a serious note, given their past and history. Im pretty sure that yeon made this decision because he thinks he is the one responsible for kihoon’s misfortune- that regardless of whether the red string rock would have told him and kihoon is now gone and all that crap, he wouldn’t be able to let go this nagging feeling. So i think this is for the best and definitely fits their characters. Yeon needs to get over their past and stop blaming himself for the choices he made, he also probably couldn’t forgive himself for doing the same fcking thing that started all of this- clinging to kihoon and falling in love with him. So i really think this fits for the best, especially with kihoon losing his memories LMAO if it was the other way around, this would be a repeat of their childhood and i think this fits more cuz yeon needs a catalyst to get over the bs he is thinking in his head and kihoon is a star that can bulldose his bs anywhere so kudos to him and his hardworking ass for working overtime

BRO WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
