I know that sensei will probably show us their relationship differently than I think, but in my opinion, the first step in their relationship should still be made by Doumeki. Why? There are several reasons. Doumeki fell in love with him at first sight, he cared for him, he was ready to die for him! He was rejected, but he still thinks of Yashiro even now. He survived the trauma of what happened to his sister and father. He almost died.
BUT. This is nothing compared to Yashiro's trauma. He is the most unhappy man I have ever read about. Brutally raped since childhood, in love with a friend who does not even know about his feelings, he was beaten, raped, and ready to die because he could not bear his life anymore. He thinks he doesn't deserve happiness. He doesn't want to admit that he needs help because it would destroy him. He built a wall around him because this is what helps him survive and not commit suicide if others see what he is really like. He is a coward. A lonely and unhappy coward. He must understand this and his feelings and his thoughts must explode at some point, but when it is done I think he will hate himself even more. His mask and cold attitude are the only things that keep him alive. He wants to be loved but if he shows others that he is fragile he will think he will lose everything. Everything he worked on from the very beginning. If he takes the first step, if he breaks down and starts crying in front of Doumeki he may not recover from it after that. He needs this scene, that's for sure, but Doumeki should help him achieve it. Doumeki is loving and he will do anything to make Yashiro happy. I know that Yashiro has hurt Doumeki and some people think he does not deserve such love and devotion, but I think if he will be the one who will give up first and 'fall on his knees and beg for forgiveness' it will not be good for him.
They are equal, so they should come to an agreement looking at each other in the eye. Doumeki should confess he still loves him and then Yashiro could admit he is fragile and he needs him to be happy. This is just my opinion. You don't have to agree with this, but I wanted to stand on Yashiro's side because some people think that he should suffer for what he did to Doumeki, but this is just cruel.
Yashiro is the person who needs love the most. When he left Doumeki after their first time it was bc he realized that he doesn't really like being treated like trash and that all his life is just some lies that he told himself and without knowing it it became the truth all that is like kageyama said is to self protect himself since childhood. Like when they were in high school he aaaalways thought that he doesn't deserve any kind of love or affection like when kageyama annoyed him with the bandages.
Couldn't agree more on Yashiro's count! But I don't think it'll go down like that...I don't think he'll ever admit he was hurt and is hurt or ever fully accept doumeki's love (like dating)..cause I too think accepting love would mean admitting he had been wronged and the dam in his head would break...But I think he will be a Yakuza again to get Doumeki to join his group instead (get him)..
I am curious if Yoneda will ever refer to the fact that Doumek took contact lenses. That was so cute!
