The way some are trying to defend the horrific pacing of this story is insane like bro the reason im still reading is because i need to see how this ends so i can write a critique for it

idk, it’s not to defend this one particular story but. That’s just, what works..? the job of an artist/writer is to make it interesting regardless and TRUST ME it’s possible. If you’re such an hardcore cliche hater I bet you also hate happy endings? Criticising one specific work by criticising the formula.. that’s isn’t really Mingwa’s fault, and regardless it’s what the people want
I think the main thing is that Mingwa IS capable of writing something in common "formulas" of BL tropes and still making it a pretty tight knit and interesting story (see bj alex) and i think its sad to see how her writing has been really lacking in quality with Jinx. I dont know if its because she has to choose whether to put more priority on the quality of art or writing. Maybe she has a to choose between writing what sells the most to an audience or writing something she can take her time with that she will be proud of. I really dont know what changed in the years since bj alex but at the end of the day this is Mingwa's job and i am a simple reader who is just really saddened by the possibility that she has to "downgrade" her own writing just because "its what the people want"
This format is often used yes! It really depends on how you execute it. For Jinx the problem really is its pacing. Would i be more sympathetic to jaekyungs backstory if we got it 20 chapters ago? Yeah probably! But that didnt happen and with combination of IRL waiting time for updates and what was happening in the story it doesnt exactly feel like a big reveal tbh?? We all knew that jaekyung was gonna have a sad backstory ofc and that got hinted at... so long ago... and then the story was quiet about it for SO MANY CHAPTERS and its been so long and with the development of both characters being so stagnant FOR A WHILE this doesnt really feel like a natural payoff
I’m with you 100% on both what I think I could call disappointment to see artists probably having to follow some type of script and the pacing part !! I was just replying to the formula/format from the other poster, since I really believe anything could be boring structure-wise, imo what makes stories good is the meat on top of it, characterisation, writing and all those little details
But i also think the pacing is a bit off … it kind of makes me mad that Jaekyung was a jerk for so long and we’ll probably see way less screen time of him finally being a decent human being but alas..
I haven’t gave up on this one yet JUST because it is Mingwa, hopefully they have a way to fix this but it doesn’t look too good in my eyes atm TT

It is so easy for rumors to spread my goodness GUYS as far as any of us are aware there is no official announcement of this being discontinued or cancelled!!! All you are hearing is a game of telephone of people panicking!!! This manhwa was made by a much larger team than usual BL's so I wouldn't be surprised if they are taking longer with it also there could be internal issues we don't know about anyways ALL IM SAYING is never say never and please do your own research also stop spreading rumors that have not been confirmed (as far as im aware)
Manhwa takes time to create and there are other manhwa published by Manta that have taken over a year to release season 2 ex manhwa: I can see your stats!

I've found that commenting on the pacing of a media that is still updating a bit silly since we readers are reading as this updates so of course it will feel slower, all I recommend is for people to take in what this manhwa would feel like if it was fully completed. Anyways even as someone who knows the (very bare bones) spoilers of the novel I have to hand it to the creators that the mystery of Sejin's fragmented memories and what Ido's hiding is so well done it really adds to the intrigue and is really unique writing to what we previously thought was just a "normal" omegaverse story
It's really disappointing to see such a lack of nuance from fans of this genre especially when many manhwa can get into such relatable topics specifically ones that can really resonate with lgbtq people. I imagine its because of the seperation we have from the author due to the nature of this site that leads to a lack of respect. I can't tell you all to change your minds or change your opinions but please take a minute to step back and be mindful everyone. I do not mean this as a personal attack to anyone i just felt i needed to say something from the comments i see often on this site and on social media.
One more thing, there is a difference between reading this while its updating and reading it while its finished. Things may appear to be dragging out but in reality the effect is often due to real life wait time. Also please remember at the end of the day we are reading this illegally.
Theres a real lack of patience and media literacy these days. A rare manga that actually focuses on our female protagonists career, agency, and autonomy. People often believe that in real life and in fiction that love must ALWAYS include big romantic gestures but real love is about respecting each other and the quiet slow moments in between. Shirayuki and Zen's love is drinking flower tea and talking until late into the night *insert laundry and taxes scene from EEAAO*. I have criticisms about AnS but the romance is definitely not one of them.
Not to mention people not noticing the poly subtext happening between obizenyuki and even then its so beautiful that even though obi holds feelings for shirayuki (and arguably zen as well) he respects their relationship and their bonds too much to ever overstep (which is amazing to see btw!)
It's honestly crazy how people seem to ignore that Obi stayed because of BOTH Shirayuki AND Zen! And they BOTH wanted Obi to stay!!!
Love in AnS is about hearing your partners names and that keeps you going through out the day even when you cant see them! Love is about giving each other a gift that reminds you that they will always be a part of your heart! Love is about making sure the two people you love arent seperated because you know they are the only ones who could truly keep each other safe! Love is about willing to go anywhere because you have decided to devote your entire being to keeping them safe!

I know people say that sometimes to stop ship wars and it’s for couples that a poly relationship would definitely not work for, but for these three I can totally see a throuple.
