if you want to read more mangas that have trans characters, i suggest boys run the riot, the MC is a trans guy! another good one is our dreams at dusk! both have awesome representation!!

The more that is revealed about them the more it seems like they are actually transgender, not just a crossed dresser. I don't think the author really knows anything about being transgender and hence why they keep getting referred to as a boy. Honestly it's a bit disappointing to see the being referred to in this way.
If you mean Huohuo, I think he is a cross-dresser. He wants to dress as a girl and do make-up, etc. But he doesn't want to do the physical transformation.
Or he's just a crossdresser? Wanting to wear female clothing as a male doesn't automatically make you transgender, it could, but the author is clearly not going onto that route. That doesn't mean the author is ignorant, it just means the author isn't making a trans character but a crossdresser which is still something that's rare and good to see in such a story!
He's a crossdresser but he doesn't want to change his psychical form, also the dark skinned guy would definitely not sleep with houhou if houhou's a transgender woman since the dark skin guy is gay
