I could not understand fabian. Was he really swayed by the princess and betrayed FL or was he threatened/forced into it? His power seems to be a clairvoyant. He told FL his power was meant to find FL but he did not seems to look for her when she ran away after betrayed by him. Fabian is a mercenary, he should be smarter than that, why author created him like a dumb fool to be manipulated by the princess and believe everything she said?

Also why ML flinch everytime that woman said something hinting their past. Is he so afraid of letting people know that the woman ditched him in the past? LOL. The wife successfully forgets about him and him chasing after the wife who does not love him anymore.

Beatrice is a cheap woman that that roll in beds with men she wanted to use. Peon is very handsome as per novel. Hence, even if he wasn't her love interest it is still suprising to me that she hasn't done that with peon. I could not helped but wonder if beatrice has also put a spell on FL. She was totally brainwashed by beatrice believing all the negative things she said about her.

I am at 100 plus chapters. After reading cezar back story finally got to understand why. He was not born a villain. He was taught twisted concept of love by the pope since young. He was constantly under pressure, threats, manipulation and abuse. He was powerless against the pope to protect both himself and ruby. Does not mean what he did was okay. But what choices does he have? He was desperate. He was trying protect them both in the way he could given those situation. The pope is the real villain here. They are just his puppets. Ruby didn't know. She misunderstood cazer. Yes. He did abuse her to get her to comply under the threats of the pope. But she didn't know those marriages was not cazer ideas. Cazer is also a product of victimization.
In a way, I feel sorry for cazer. After all he went through, he got hated by FL that he desperately trying to protect in the way he only know how. He also want to be a knight and live a normal life like everyone else but was he able to do? The answer is no. Seeing through cazer pov, nothing can be more painful than that one thing you love in this world does not love you back. He have no one but FL. Just when he is about to break free from the grip of the pope where ruby no longer needs to be pass around and he can be with her properly but FL turn her back on him. Can you blame her? She on survival mode.
FL is so lucky to have 2 men that love her more than themselves. Cazer does not have the luxury nor able to love like mc did growing up in that kind of environment. It's easy to judge someone and say he should do otherwise or make better choices. But cazer is truly powerless in those situation when he was young. Both cazer and ruby are poor souls. But ruby are luckier to be able to meet mc. Whereas, poor cazer has no one to love him. I wish author were kinder to him
