Probably not going to continue cause these types of protagonists are the worsttt Why does she insist on being the perfect victim while letting someone else do the dirty work and then choosing to be oblivious to it. Like okay, dawg, go get bullied/harassed/abused for the next 47 chapters then. Man, I wanted to stick around for Haesu but for the protag to keep fumbling and playing the innocent act for so long... it really gets boring real fast

she literally can't do shit bc that bitchass blonde with the bad bob will go crying to her daddy and her life is OVER dawg,,,, even if she doesn't directly do it and lets haesu kill her, it will still point back to mc bc everyone and their mother knows that mc was bullied by her and she'll be the prime suspect regardless. let's use put our critical thinking caps on

saying I should be wearing a critical thinking hat while you're clearly not wearing one is wild asf I'm only bitchin that she wants to be some saint when it's obvious her friend is out there, about to wreck some havoc. And even when he could have gotten rid of the blonde early, she's like "no don't" this ain't even fight/flight no more, it's pure 'i need the protagonist to be the good cop in the story while the side character is the bad cop'. she's bullied so badly and you're telling me she wants her bullies to be okay? is she okay? she nearly got lit on fire TO THE FACE the previous chapter and she still decides to save the blonde bih the next chapter. did we not read the same thing? cause now I'm actually wondering where's your critical thinking hat

if u read past chapter 13 u would know that she don't gaf abt the bullies themselves, she just is terrified of the idea that she will be responsible for any death, doesn't matter who. it's as if ppl don't want murder on their conscience she's also worried abt the consequences of her actions and whether or not a being as powerful as haesu will ask something of her for helping her... bc that's literally what the blonde did to her. she pretended to be her friend first and then ruined her life. god forbid she tries to only thing she has left of her, i.e. her humanity??? if she lets him do this wtf does this make her? she'll become exactly like the rumours.

    pluvion October 23, 2026 7:41 pm

anyways spoilers she lets him kill her bullies eventually at the expense of almost dying herself dw

I half agree with you bc there is this big thing in media and books where "protagonist must be good no matter what, even to their enemies" and how MCs should be the bigger person and not stoop to the villains level(whatever that be meaning lol maybe I'm just evil I don't get this mentality), which like I get authors wanna write ppl with high morality as main characters but like it's boring esp in a horror story thats already not rooted in reality and where the MC is abused all the time by others. But I get both sides like MC is an ordinary person(tho I feel like a lot of authors underestimate the "malice" even within ordinary people. Many ordinary and kind ppl do infact want their tormentors to suffer! This doesn't make them bad ppl) so the author tries to have her be more "upright" and "have a bottom line". Lol sometimes I search up vengeful/unforgiving protagonist to avoid this when I get tired of this trope.

yeah i understand but the thing is she DOES want them to suffer... she just doesn't want to be responsible for their deaths... if haesu had said he would he would torment them and hide the fact that they would die she might have agreed to it, but she knows that he WILL kill them so she doesn't want him to

and ultimately her cowardice and tendency to run away would make her a "bad" person. she doesn't want the responsibility

Nah I get it. It's an ordinary person's conscious and not wanting to be burdened by guilt/letting others deaths weigh on their mind. But it's also a very common protagonist trait(9/10 main characters in fiction don't get revenge in the end due to said trait) so I somewhat understand the original poster saying it's boring(not the story but that specific trait). There's only so many times you can read about an abused MC pleading others not to kill their tormentors lol. This is not me being sarcastic btw but it's quite a common scene.

Okay sure, she doesn't want murder on her conscious. who would want that when all they wanted was a peaceful life before they started to get bullied just cause? ofc that bit could make sense, but seriously the way her character is written is just so.. ahhcheeks. since she's the protagonist, ofc she won't be die so early. but you ever stop to think if she wasn't? lol pretty sure consequences and rumors would be the least of her worries if she's even alive to think about them lolol and so what if she's labeled as some weirdo damn realistically, people have been labeled as worse and they continue to live their life fine. ofc not everyone will, but that's where the author could start branching out in different directions to help the protag cope with it.

Accidentally liked but also her life would be ruined if she went on to tell anyone about what’s happening to her, you have to realise that blonde bitch is a nepo baby and will let her daddy sue her, that blonde bitch has connections so.. and blonde bitch gets killed anyways I’m pretty sure… also she’s sensitive / a scaredy cat, the guilt would overwhelm her so much.. there’s a lot of reasons on why she acts like that tbh. (Also horror and romance is in the same category so yeah expect that.)

    Uka October 26, 2026 7:20 pm

Willpower is one thing but money can buy everything. That blondie has connections which an orphan can possibly never have unless they are somehow very exceptionally talented or have someone rich adore them or get adopted by someone rich. People are buying ecosystems and countries with money, no one would care I'd an orphan disappeared and could never work in any field again. She is frustrating but it's understandable.

Ngl I'm on the edge of my seat with this writing. Like it genuinely feels like things are going downhill, like the ultimate worst case scenario just happened, and I just feel a sense of dread for whatever's about to happen next (。ŏ﹏ŏ) solid writing as always by nishi, but on gawd that princess is annoying At this point, I don't want her to ever find out she's being used. Genuinely I hope they overthrow baal and her together (she's not exactly innocent as she's just giving in to her desires. like c'mon, gramps did NOT deserve that attitude). both of them can just skedaddle to their own lil cage for disrupting the netherworld's peace. She probably won't give af about it, but it'll be funny cause baal's gon be annoyed for life (╬◔‿◔)凸
