I think it is connected to the assimilation progress which Jio is going through. With time he takes up more of Giovanni's characteristics. Yes, Jio mentioned something before he left the painting about cutting down his presence as he saw that other workers couldn't look into his eyes. The same person thing is also a bit vague to me, but there the System mentioned that Jio and Giovanni are "Connectors". Here my understanding is that although originally Jio and Giovanni were different people with ordinary life, due to this special connection they became one. Maybe we will know more and get a better understanding of this concept.

I think they misunderstood chapter 35 and 36 but it’s still Able and Hardy it’s just a what if series as in what if Able met hardy when he was still Lionel
