first of all he's most probably mentally ill because who in their right mind would think it was okay to marry someone while having a relationship and doesn't think it's a problem at all??? i acknowledge every bad thing he's ever done, he gaslights and manipulates for sure i can see red!! and he did reap what he sowed and I KNOW he's a bad person whether intentionally or not i hate him too esp that part where he was like "but you chose me..." well duh because you forced him (LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR)
but at the end of the day he did lose everything. his wife, probably his family too, and most of all mitsuru :(( he had it coming for sure but idk that made me cry like it made me think that mitsuru and shogo had each other and theyre in their journey of healing and love meanwhile the ex would probably just die alone like ALONE alone, no therapy nothing. he hurt the people he's loved unknowingly cause he's dumb like that (he probably has some undiagnosed illness idk). and idk i don't think he can ever move past this, which makes it even more sad because he'd be stuck here unable to make his 'beloved' stay because there's something wrong with him as a person.
they dont make stories with age gap this good anymore </3 yk the kind where you can see the difference in views and TIME but still meet each other somewhere . i really love how the author paced this and also the part where his study gets filled with more plants every last page just because gene liked it when he gave him one random day AHHH MY HEART and then proceeds to end the story with another round of plant-giving but now it's something more delicate and something that would need more time and affection to take care of BECAUSE GENE ISNT LEAVING ANYMORE! HE'LL STAY FOR REAL THIS TIME AAAAAAHHH
