I'm reflecting on Taeyoung's childhood flashback scene, where his home was submerged in water, and I think Taeyoung is using Ahead/the character as a way to feel out Jinwoo and process his feelings of abandonment. Sure he can play it off like he's acting, but I believe his voice is trembling because he's calling out to Jinwoo. Their lives and desires parallel the feelings of the characters in Ahead.

My speculation: We haven't gotten his POV in a while and I think the next time we get it, Taeyoung will be exploring his feelings of abandonment and family insecurity through the lens of his feelings about Jinwoo. He may be more erratic, clingy, and/or mean.

While Jinwoo is feeling insecure right now, I believe Taeyoung is playing nice to win him over so he won't leave him. I think that desire will intensify when he gets punished by his family next chapter. I suspect it was his family calling him after cleaning up his dirty laundry (the forums) again. He was using his peace with Jinwoo as a buffer to subtlety cry out for love and buy time. Jinwoo doesn't know that though... leading to his feelings of anxiety.

I think this also is why he's breaking character around everyone thats not Jinwoo (notably around Donju). He doesn't feel the desire to perform around many people except for Jinwoo and his family... I think that as Jinwoo becomes his family, he may stop putting on the facade for his blood relatives.

The look in his eyes in chapter 42 vs chapter 1 is so interesting. The glimmer in his eyes when saying what are you looking at to Jinwoo vs saying it to jinwoos friend.

Subtle desire/curiosity vs disgust/indifference

so If i put my foil hat on then the sun gleams in Taeyoungs eyes every time he looks at Jinwoo. In Jinwoos eyes the pannels typically become brighter when he goes from being alone to being with Taeyoung. This means that they both are each other's suns and they dont know where the love for eachother will lead! They both are experiencing cracks in their realities. Just in different ways.

Jinwoo is experiencing more emotions outside of his usual blank grey reality. His face chnages from blank to having light in his eyes
Taeyoung is finally experiencing vulnerability. His fake smile is falling more and he truly seems to be processing what life means who you genuinely want something (someone).

I THINK THEY ARE BOTH WALKING INTO THE UNKNOWN and are afraid of the future for similar but different reasons.

Generic stories can be fun when the art and story progression deviate from the norm. I love this story because the character's actions are quiet and intense. Nothing feels aggressive or forced in their movements. The oral fixations. The eyes. The noticing of slight movements and changes in each other. The hints at why they both need each other and they role they fill in each other's lives. They slide together like glue and subtly fall in love. I don't need everything to be vibrant and extremely unique to love it. Sometimes, my favorite story is one I've heard before.

Bonus: The ML also gives slight yandere in his behavior. I love the communities in these comments. Most comment sections can be filled with people complaining about morals or hatereading. I love that everyone in this comment section are locked in with following the characters profession. It's fun seeing joy in the threads.

I want him to be crazy, clingy, possessive, and obsessive. I want ML to not be able to breathe without MC.

People are always complaining about toxicity. He's been trash since chapter 1! He's perfect!!

I wonder if he's trying assert dominance over MCs friends

How often is this story updated because I haven't read it in months and it still has very few chapters.
