Top fucks men because "a guy is just better" than "some controlling woman with a loose xxx" lmfao that's what this author's serving to the majority female audience that's gonna be reading this shit.
-Okay so more than the art itself per se I love the storyboarding/composition of the scenes, very cinematic and would make for a killer movie or drama.
-ha kyung's hairstyle took me out of some scenes cause it's just so bad lol my boy needs to get a side part or something cause this is not working for him
-the smut scenes were lowkey unnecessary and honestly kinda detracted from the ambiance. This is one of those series where the all ages version would feel like a more cohesive version
-the wig physics kinda pmo lol ain't no way bro's wig wasn't flying in the wind when he just plops it on top of his real hair, nary a cap or glue to be found
-I kinda wish they would've played up the moment when he called him after his mother died and bro didn't remember him more, that part shook me to my core
-i realise this is sounding haterish, I'm nitpicking cause everything good has already been said I guess lol. Also this is the first time in a long time that ive liked a top more than the bottom so good for you yoonsung. 10/10 yearner
Omg their summer together when he was pretending to be jiyoung was so romantic wtfffff I was falling in love right along with them
Can't believe we were cut off right before the feast
Also haeil's character design is really appealing to me, he's not really the cutesy type but he's extremely cute at the same time? Haeil I love you come back soon
I'm sorry for doubting you, you are platinum my man. I'm actually flabbergasted by the state of his love for yeonjo, like actual unconditional, no strings attached, if you love something let it go ass love, I'm shocked to see it. I'm a sucker for "as long as you live, nothing else matters" so moonwon is my goat from now on, fuck the ML lol.
And I just know I'm gonna eat my words but Moonwon surprised me with his sincerity to Yeonjo? Like he was deadass about to give up his position for him, you gotta respect the courage at the very least. I have a feeling he had something to do with Yeonjo's father's framing or some other evil shit cause they gotta make room for the ML lol.
Professor Byun Minho doesn't seem to have a future after his fateful encounters with wealthy sa...

Not exactly "to lovers" but 1000000% enemies
Had to catch my breath at times, shit got so intense. Scattered thoughts:
-love how minho was very much an "unlikeable" victim who had his own sins to account for, it complicates the narrative and it was a weakness for wookyung to exploit. He didn't manipulate people to turn against minho, Minho did that to himself by being an asshole to everyone and the culpability he had in his own final loneliness was part of what broke him.
-maybe I should read sadistic beauty for full context but from what I can see here I lowkey understand why minho felt so insecure and inferior that he did all those horrible things to the people who loved him. Growing up poor and becoming a university lecturer was no small feat and he should feel proud of himself for that, but it's not enough, he'll never feel good enough. In another world, he could have hit rock bottom, worked his way back up and reflected on everything to eventually apologise to the people he wronged and make peace whether they forgive him or not...
-out of all the crazy violence and rape and evil shit, disturbed my heart the most were really the crushing emotional defeats, like when wookyung ruins the translator job and minho cries over how much courage it took for him to step into that world again. Or when he drunkenly rambles about he should have realised the boundaries of his own mediocre talent and how that was at the heart of why he treated others so terribly. Or when he finally breaks after calling his dad with the hidden phone only to be told never to call again.
'-this artist reaaaallly knows how to express emotion, I felt every bit of minho's despair and defeat. If wookyung and I were ever to agree on anything, it is that minho's crying face is indeed the best
-the ending felt a bit rushed compared to how thrilling and tightly written everything before it was. Feel like the suicide attempt should have come earlier in the story and the ending should have progressed beyond it, it felt like an inevitability for so long and would like to have had my expectations subverted. But I don't hate the ending for what it is.
-the spiral into depression was really well executed, I could feel the strength being sapped from minho until there was nothing left, until even the possibility of escape was "too annoying."
Overall very interesting read, obviously not for everyone but also not "rape slop" or whatever it is people are calling it.
But the crotch sniffing caught me off guard like damn wtf lol.
But also it lowkey didn't make sense to target haruki, he was just a random street scout who didn't care that much about debuting, blacklisting him from the industry wouldn't mean shit to him so the producer guy has no leverage over him? I guess the threat of having the rape film exposed would be enough to pressure him to keep quiet but idk it just seems like an unnecessary risk to target normies like haruki vs preying on the ones who are desperate to stay in the business.
Idk why this was what broke my immersion out of all the ridiculous shit this series threw at us lol I guess cause all the other predators were at least somewhat believable in terms of proximity to haruki? This guy just blasted in out of nowhere
Who tf orders something when the store owner says they're closed
Not just the appearance and personality but the lore of red disappearing into the mountain after defeating blue only to show up years later together with him in alola lol. Can't wait to read the rest
Yumeji is too cute and I love short top Shinkai, he has a pretty rare personality type for BL that's easy to dislike. Although I do wish he treasured Yumeji more I like seeing him chase Yume and grovel a bit when he treats him badly which is like 99% of the time lol.
I don't really like marui but he's a king for the way he ragebaits Shinkai and keeps him in check or else he'd walk all over Yumeji. If this series continued like hidoku shinaide I'd love to see their relationship develop out of this weird lopsided mess they've got going on, like a real jealousy arc when? I want to see Shinkai sweat seeing Yumeji be chased by real competition
There's just something about the airhead happy go lucky guy snapping and the tsundere starting to yearn, kinda wish they dragged it out a little longer cause ignoring your partner's messages all night and them coming home to see you with a stranger straddling your lap was pretty bad, saying he didn't even like him made it so much worse. Idk if there's a term for the trope where tsundere takes the love interest's love for granted but freaks out and starts chasing when they think the love interest gave up on them but I eat it up every time
Might be crack theory but I think this demon was double dipping contracts which goes against Sebastian's policy of one at a time. Here's what I'm thinking
1. The old guy was his initial contractor. He introduces the demon to Anna's family as his associate and his wife died 6 months before he was to marry Anna. Sacrificed?
2. The old guy wished for control of Anna's land and the marriage proposal was to pressure the family to take a loan with the demon with the land as collateral, they'd fail to pay it back and the land would be taken.
3. When the father refused the loan claiming he won't rely on the hope of divine intervention, the demon saw the opportunity to grab another soul and coaxed Anna into wishing for the crops to grow. But because the old guy's wish was still in play, she still had to marry him even though her family's prospects were magically restored.
4. When Anna's last 2 wishes were granted, her contract was fulfilled and her whole family was wiped out. The wedding to the doctor was held in secret so nobody knew about it while everyone in town knew she was to wed the old guy. He just pretends they were married already and lays claim to the family's land now that no other claimants are left alive, thus fulfilling his wish and possibly getting his soul taken then too, hence why the demon said he "waited so long" for the meal, Anna's wishes took like 3 days to fulfill lol, he was talking about the old guy's wish(es).
Orrrr maybe im just connecting dots that dont exist lol who knows. Also I agree with a comment below that said the exorcist weapons are probably reaper-adjacent, did anyone else find it sus how they insist on not cremating the bodies thus leaving perfectly intact specimens for grave guy to take and experiment on? Convenient....
when she said animalistic ML she meant that shit lol none of that misunderstood bs. The manhwa tones down how inhumane karas is, he realllly doesn't gaf about anything about Abel and even that's questionable, he only care(d) about possessing abel and had to be taught what it means/how to love him.
I say this not as a critique but a compliment really, he's truly inhuman in a way that so many inhuman characters just aren't. He has to be taught human morality and empathy that's why abel is the only one to really connect with him, he's the only one who treats him like a dragon with human qualities and not the other way around. There's slight delusion mixed in there too but fundamentally the reason why he isn't as aghast or disgusted by karas's actions* as maybe he should be is because he doesn't project human morality on karas the way the others do.
*I'm specifically referring to the scene on the ship where the fake commander guy takes hostages and karas "almost" kills one, in the novel he straight up just kills a bunch of innocent hostages, even ones he had a cute little conversation with about love advice, ones he explicitly knew had loved ones waiting for them. When Abel was still able to fall in love with that mf after seeing that I was like ohhhhh this bitch is cuckoo for coco puffs too but it kinda does make sense for his character I guess... but the manhwa knew the general public was NOT ready so they softened the scene lol I say good decision.
It was so sweet how Nakamura let go of his anguish when she picked up his pen and called it cute, lowkey want them to be friends
How is this so good lmao Heechan is like theee most likeable mc I've read in a long time, I'm obsessed with him. You can tell he's the artist's favourite too, they put all their power into making him pretty.
I'm on ch60 and I'm still ehhhh on Minjae, he's too opaque for now, can't really get attached due to how guarded he is. I'm sure he'll open up later on and I don't dislike him, I'm just not crazy about him like I am for Heechan lol when you first see his tattoos in that club scene I almost fainted lol I love you Heechan
But ngl my respect for Kasan went up like crazy when he stabbed the shit out of Igen lol never thought he'd have it in him. Usually not a fan of pushover bottoms but idk. Kasan is passive for sure but it feels intentional. He's actively defying his own family and rejecting the cycle of revenge for the sake of his own happiness, very different from typical pushovers who let's everyone walk all over them and suffer in silence. He's putting himself first in a way and I love him for that.
That "I can come to you instead" in ch27 sold me, bye bye og Tasara lol. The fusing was lowkey genius tho, it made Nara being male not an inconvenience to be worked around (as is the case for a lot of these royal setting BL) but a key component of their story, if Tasara lives in peace with Nara and ends his natural life with no descendants, the curse is gone for good.
Loved this one but agree that the sex got gratuitous, like it gets to a point.... the non-explicit version is the one for me
