But ngl my respect for Kasan went up like crazy when he stabbed the shit out of Igen lol never thought he'd have it in him. Usually not a fan of pushover bottoms but idk. Kasan is passive for sure but it feels intentional. He's actively defying his own family and rejecting the cycle of revenge for the sake of his own happiness, very different from typical pushovers who let's everyone walk all over them and suffer in silence. He's putting himself first in a way and I love him for that.
That "I can come to you instead" in ch27 sold me, bye bye og Tasara lol. The fusing was lowkey genius tho, it made Nara being male not an inconvenience to be worked around (as is the case for a lot of these royal setting BL) but a key component of their story, if Tasara lives in peace with Nara and ends his natural life with no descendants, the curse is gone for good.
Loved this one but agree that the sex got gratuitous, like it gets to a point.... the non-explicit version is the one for me
I can’t resist a megane with black hair, I'm sorry.
That reveal when the blindfold gets ripped off was peak, also when Sho says he was happy that Kaname chose to save his brother and truly loved Gaku the way Sho should have been loved by his own brother. Excited for the special booklet, hope to see their baby!
Didn't have all the side stories so probably missing some stuff but anyway
Tldr happy ending
Plot points I remember
-mutual pining confirmed. Seoin fell during the jeju trip, Minho been in love for like 10 years
-the good luck charm is the email he wrote on Minho's cast. It's a reference to a line from a french poem that roughly translates to "the wind is rising! we must try to live" (same one the ghibli movie references btw). He followed them to the mountain to see Muyoung one last time before killing himself but seeing Seoin's resilience + the email made him reconsider.
-his mixed signals about Muyoung were intentional, he was trying to make Seoin jealous to see if he was interested at all, he doesn't really gaf about Muyoung (he's actually really cold to him). But he wasn't acting out of innate manipulative tendencies either, he was acting on love advice he got from his sports sponsor/coach/aunt who all wanted to help him with his crush lol
-Gitae tries to recreate the event from 10 years ago by sending Muyoung to seduce Minho. They go up to his room and hear Muyoung moaning and Seoin thinks the worst is about to happen but notes that he won't stop loving Minho even if it's true (!!) but they walk in and there's no Muyoung, only Minho watching Gitae and Muyoung's sex tape with a stone cold look on his face
-Gitae's wife set up hidden cameras and had tons of dirt on Gitae, she sent the files to her cousin and the club members through that fugly Christmas ball wine thing, it was supposed to be Gitae's humiliation ritual (?) to get him into the club but it didn't work, he was never gonna get in (this part kinda didn't make sense but I'm guessing it's better addressed in one of the side stories...)
-Muyoung was waiting in the room to drug Minho to sleep with him but he was actually in the uncle's room who swiftly called the police on his ass lol. He gets exposed in the media for being a drug abusing home invader.
-Muyoung's not a good person but I felt bad for him ngl, he's obviously delulu and there was a clip of Gitae choking him, cursing him out... Seoin watches it and thinks back to all the sus things Gitae said about Muyoung and feels bad for him too, our big hearted mc....
-Minho finds Seoin's dad's friend who scammed them and gives him money to give back to the family so Seoin doesn't have to worry about them anymore and can live his life freely.
-the whole thing is pretty much about people who accept themselves as they are aka Minho and those who are duplicitous and unendingly greedy, using others to get what they want aka Gitae. Gitae tries to use his social circle that's full of shallow connections to selfish people to crush Minho but Minho fights back with allies who are loyal to him because they like him as a person.
-Minho knows his obsessive love is a fault, when he falls for someone he's willing to do anything for that person so if it's a bad person like Muyoung he will do bad things. Luckily Seoin is a good person. But he puts others before himself constantly so Minho protects him from those who abuse his goodwill.
Pretty satisfying imo, I was ehhh on the thought of Minho still having feelings for Muyoung cause it didn't make sense so glad that was cleared up.
I would have to check but iirc no, Seoin notes how people thought Minho was dumb and boring but it was more that he was only interested in Muyoung and didn't care about anyone else. He did turn red when he saw Seoin at times but he did that for other gay men he saw, likely due to feeling awkward about how to address them having only come out recently so maybe that's what you're thinking of?
He took drugs because Muyoung told him to, he wanted to keep dating even after the cheating and was going to kill himself after Muyoung dumped him, he was all in for that evil man lol
I would have loved a happy ending but this is the one that feels true to the characters and completes their story. Mamiya in particular is such a delightful character, I will always defend a character whose trauma made them weird and mean and unpleasant.
The scenes where they debate killing Oota broke my heart the most I fear. We as the reader got to see exactly how brutal things got for Mamiya but Sada only heard the vague descriptions that Mamiya was willing to give up, so it's understandable why he would try to convince him not to kill him. But it must have been so hard for Mamiya to give in and agree to let him go, imagine someone who violently raped you just getting to live a normal life with a job and a family? But even then, he agrees because he loves Sada and wants to respect his perspective...
And the little concession Sada gives after taking a peek at Mamiya's scars, saying they can go kill Oota if he really wants to, mattered so much. It's so easy to judge Mamiya after the fact but what about the people that pushed him into that corner? They didn't give a shit whether he lived or died so why should he? But just that little bit of emotional validation from Sada was enough for him to drop his pursuit of Oota, seems like things would have never gone this far in the first place had his fucking dad done what he was supposed to do and ream out the ones who were bullying his son instead of treating him like a freak for fighting back.
It hurt my heart to see him say don't feel bad for me, I'm stronger than they are like baby no, we should feel bad for you, our hearts should break for what you went through. You survived and you're strong for that but it still hurt like hell and it's okay to acknowledge that.
But when the ml forces the mc to take drugs then gets surprised when the mc becomes a druggie lmfaoooo sir what do you meeeeaaaaan you locked him in a tiny room with nothing to do but stare at that fuck ass tapestry and you're surprised he's wasting away in there
lowkey gonna keep going in the hopes that something satisfying happens but that moment took me tf out, had me mad at myself for wasting my life reading this
Earnestness is like my #1 character trait and this boy's got it, he cares so much about everything he does and gives 100% of himself every time. At first I was like eh? When he confessed his love for Yuujin but I get it now.
Yuujin validated him through his worst insecurities, that he was worth less as an omega than he would be as an alpha. Yuujin found him just as challenging and complex and interesting as an omega as he did as an alpha, even more so because his personality and will resists the traditional path of omegas while his body can never become that of an alpha's. That contradiction was Rei's pain point but Yuujin regarded it as something that made him unique and special, and he felt comfortable laying down his fears and came to accept people perceiving him as an omega because of it.
Tbh the second couple was not the vibe, I always skip their chapters on rereads but I'll always circle back for my baby Rei
Grandpa had the red guy kidnap haebom and do some bad shit to him but it didn't work, so they threatened to do the same to taesung if he didn't stay away from him and that's what got him to leave. So this was him trying to protect taesung, bonus points for "you're keeping taesung from having his own kids/my grandkids" hence the extremely obvious lie that haebom is randomly dating a woman lmfao.

How is this so good lmao Heechan is like theee most likeable mc I've read in a long time, I'm obsessed with him. You can tell he's the artist's favourite too, they put all their power into making him pretty.
I'm on ch60 and I'm still ehhhh on Minjae, he's too opaque for now, can't really get attached due to how guarded he is. I'm sure he'll open up later on and I don't dislike him, I'm just not crazy about him like I am for Heechan lol when you first see his tattoos in that club scene I almost fainted lol I love you Heechan
