We are experiencing a long ass flashback when they are in middle school.In present,Xixi is in college and Jian Yi in highschool.Read again in order to understand better. :)
Flashback starts on chapter 51, 161 lets you know they are not yet in HS, and the first 50 chapters (mixed with artwork) focuses on older/future Zhan/Jian (no He Tian/Mo since they didn't exist at the time). I also recommend a reread. I've done it a few times. Since chapters are short it doesn't take long. (=・ω・=)

I started today and I just finished it.. omg I never expected it to be this good, I felt different emotions along the characters and man was it great! Can't wait for season two, both couples were so cute ahhh.. very enjoyable (≧∀≦) thank u.
