I don't get people who don't get the rebellion, like he literally brutally murdered ALL of their families right in front of them, they're beaten up by the hounds who treat them as play things, they're forced to be in these pretend trials where they vote for their friend to get bludgeoned to death out of fear of being turned on themselves, and now they're meant to play all happy family with a probable sociopath like?? People risk their lives in real actual rebellions all over the world for a reason, this isn't some unbelievable thing
The Hounds *claim* the townsfolk can't live without them, but, I don't think we really have evidence that would be true. Individually these people couldn't survive on their own, sure. But there's a bunch now. People are just accepting what was said at face value.

Honestly i didn't take what he said as asking sam myeong to accept responsibility for what chang geon has become. I thought in response to sam myeong being like "why didn't you do anything?", "why didn't you consult me?", he was basically saying smth like we already failed. We'd done nothing and consulted no one wayyy before he became king and this is the end result. These are the consequences. It's too late to be like why didn't you stop him because this is the monster that was made from the actions and inactions of others years ago. Though of course they didn't have much choice in anything at the time. I didn't take it as "take responsibility and feel shame" so much as "what can we expect?"
Agree, unless there is a literal uprising, the general can’t go against the king. It’s unfortunate, but even if he tried to stop all of that, he would have been cut down and things still would have played out upsettingly.
