They didn't actively murder them, they were just assigned to a risky area in hopes they would die. Though that part is dumb, what if the girl died to?
Like yeah strict enforcement of rules yada yada, but man, dem dumbass gods couldn't find a beter fuel resource than literally mass child genocide ?, aren't gods supposed to earn their power through prayers ? Like, do you really think that a handful of children are gonna pray for the thousands of gods on the other planet, or did they stockpile the humanity's prayers before they sent the asteroid/nuke on earth. And those pussy ass dragons who just sit there and look pretty knowing that the humans they loved so much are being framed, slaughter house style. And on another side of things, if dragons wanted to protect the humans at the begining of the war, why didn't they literally destroy the portal, we've all seen how lazy the gods have gotten, not even doing their dirty work themselves and instead making robots to kill other gods (nice self-preservation instincts btw, very smart). Aren't these supposed to be omniscient and omnipotent beings. And here we have a literal child sniping a dragon in the head with the same weapon most likely also invented by the gods and lethal to, drumroll please
