As of the case of “Follow the Sheep in the Abyss”, “I’m not your Guide to Destiny”, “To be or not to be(manhua)/Reborn as a villain, gotta seduce the male lead in order to survive(novel)“ and “For my Abandoned Love” i started with the novel first and realized its much better plot&chara wise than the manhua/manhwa though at some point or way the adaptation improved upon aspects or plot points or changed it in a way that reflects the direction the adaptation wants or is going for (all of which having peak art btw)
In contrast
“Observation log of the self proclaimed villainess” & “Affairs of the other world depend on the corporate slave” imo the adaptation improved the pacing and the plot a bit more than the novel at some points so I appreciated the manga expounding on what the novel offered especially with the good art? Peak shit
Therefore, if there is anyone who has read either and or both which would you recommend to start with?
I’d say read the manhwa first, then the novel! The novel has way more details that the manhwa doesn’t cover, so if you read the novel first, you might feel like the manhwa is missing a lot of things. But if you read the manhwa first, the novel will give you so much more content and extra details to enjoy. I feel like it’s better that way!
