He didn't raise him. He "only" spend the bit of free time he had with him, because he was the only one who didn't want anything from him. Also they're only 4 years apart how could a kid taking care of another kid be considered one raising the other? Them falling for each other makes a lot of sense because for a long time they've been each others light in the dark, so normal affection turned into something more

DUDE. he was like a young teen when they 1st meet. then J become her guardian (equal to adoptive parent kinda) so i think its pretty incest coded Paripam
then get lost.. you just want to make things weird for your self.. They never implied or showed any parential bonds in the story.. J did not adopt Sa-young or become his legal guardian. He visited Sa-young everyday cuz Sa-young was his first successful save..

J was a teen too gng like I still think it’s uncomfy but it’s nothing definitive.

Yes omg this part specifically
Also they're only 4 years apart how could a kid taking care of another kid be considered one raising the other?
Geez J is not some kind of middle age man when they met. He was still a kid himself! That's why everyone was trying not to be attach to him/think of him as a human because imagine forcing the weight of the world to a child. Also, they might have been affection there but did they is it implied they started a relationship at that time? If anything Sayoung was attracted to Uijae before he was sure he was J and Uijae only view Sayoung the adult one before realizing sayoung was the kid he saved. Incest where? Adoptive where? Raised who?
sometimes I wonder if ppl is reding the same thing as me and this is the case with you.
J , a teen, rescued a 4 years younger kid. this 4 years younger kid went straight to the hospital, were he was laying in bed, for whatever time. J, the teen, used to go visit this 4 year younger kid because he was lonely af and this kid was also lonely af. they were basically less lonely having each other. however, there is a huge difference between rising someone and going to visit that same someone at the hospital whenever you have the time. They were solace to each other. They were becoming found family. In no way did J rise ML.
I truly feel like you need to look up the definition of rising people.

what a weirdo crazy projection we have going on here... J never became his guardian, the only tie they had was J admitting him into the hospital under his name.
J was teetering on 20, yes, but there were never romantic undertones during their time pre-WSR. They were two lonely people who found comfort in each other's presence, nothing more. The years they spent apart are quite literally what brought them together.
If you think their relationship is incestuous, then that's on you.

This is funny. This exact reasoning is J's dilemma in the novel and why he was so in denial of his own feelings for LSY for a while. Below are novel spoilers because this is an explanation.
. . . . .
J had taken care of LSY only for a few weeks/months and saw him as a brother. If J kept taking care of him and never went in the rift, their relationship WOULD stay as brothers (which is what happened to Timeline 1 and Timeline 2).
However, too much time had passed after J went in the rift. There was never a familial connection between them. Even LSY mentions this! They meet again without knowing each other's identities and developed a sweet, vague relationship so J, as much as he tries, admits to not being able to see LSY only as "the boy he saved and is responsible for".
In the next chapters, LSY addresses this. J currently doesn't know how to treat LSY (like the kid or like the asshole he is) so LSY bluntly says "I want an equal relationship, J."
Anyway, enough with pseudo-incest bs clearly you haven't read much if you think THIS fits the bill lol
Reread this so many times that Futaba actually mirroring little touma. Taichi relationship dynamic with futaba is kinda like how Taichi with Touma was when they used to be childhood friend. Not sure if im overreading it.
Obviously just from my experience, but make-up sex has to be a fave. The relief at being able to make up and physically reconfirm each others' feelings of love can feel like a high.
im not a fan of this story turning itu Joecasta complex kinda thing. How can u like someone u pratically raise

I think it's more like sayoung liked him first (like a crush) and in time they spend together they got closer and J starts to like him in that way
