a promo manga/manhwa is a promotional summary of a story that is used to make readers want to read the novel. A lot of the popular manhwas that are going around right now started as just novels. As they gained popularity the people who own the rights to the novel decided to make it a full manhwa. This story is a good example. It started as a novel, a promo was made, and now it is a full manhwa.
They were promoting the novel with a snipet of a drawn version. They usually dont keep on going but this time they did...idk if this helped im low-key dyslexic
If by promo you're referring to the first chapter that is a promo for the novel. You are right they use these promotional comics to promote the novel anr get people to read it.
Its used to promote a novel. A manga tagged as promo is like a trailer for a novel. Promos are usually 1 chapter only.
