I read this because I got a kick out of that description and thought it would be a funny read but now I'm staying for the wholesome relationship. You don't often see sex workers featured in these stories and especially not ones where they stay in the industry but that does happen in real life so it's great seeing it portrayed.
Not to say that for everyone sex and feelings can be seperated into two distinct things, but that's how it is for some people. And there's not enough representation of that in stories so I'm a fan of it here
I like how this was executed. I feel like a lesser writer would have made this series purely "plot" but this writer has me super invested in what's actually going on. Like what are the circumstances, why does the ml have that kinda connection with mc, and what's up with the og mc? So many directions this could go, the plot has me more excited than the "plot" XD
This has a nice feel to it, I appreciate our ml a lot. You see a lot of "oh I'm a dude with a dark past who can't love because idk how" from a lot of male leads, but this is the most believable iteration of it in my eyes. Like he's got his suave moments of being hot and uncaring but it's paired with a lot of moments where he goes out of the way to give mc hints and clues and let him in on it all rather than actively hide what he's doing.
The mc is absolutely right when he says the ml "doesn't want to be hated". He has this wishy washy attitude of trying to charge ahead with his plan while trying to hold onto mc and not push too far precisely because he's feeling those emotions of love and wanting it to be reciprocated but he can't recognize it. He expresses the emotions he's feeling but has no idea how to handle them and has no idea that they're emotions
Love this story a lot as always ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Man this feels like actual abuse, big trigger warning to readers thinking of this one. You have the whole cocktail of coercion, threatening, isolation, stalking, blackmailing... Man's filled out the whole list
And it was kinda heart breaking seeing our mc go and try to defend suenghuen from a longer sentence with the leniency and wonder to himself if he's actually the problem. God the abuse to this little, naive rich boy is honestly so written. I just hope that it's manipulation from suenghueon and the author doesn't try to victim blame our mc for "acting a certain way". I don't think that'll happen because this is being written well but can never be too safe.
Also, this is a bit more of a better abuse story (not that any is actually good but-), I feel a bit better seeing him have a support network to save him in terms of rich friends and a caring mom but he's very vulnerable at this point. I guess I'm just excited about how this will continue, it's giving me the sense of dread and sadness for mc that makes me wonder if I'm a masochist
This one hurts to read in so many ways but I want to see where it goes. Ayane is clearly so traumatized from being assaulted and seeing her get forced to live like that is so sad, hoping we see rin at least realize something isn't right, kids are usually a lot more perceptive of their parent's emotions than it seems. I hate thag the guy is forcing her to live with him and confront that trauma over and over again, she needs therapy and he needs to leave her alone.
