So Grayson’s “solution” to release Chase’s pheromones is to NOT talk to him and to instead make him pass out and use injectors that are bad for their health (implies why Chase in the start of the story is so pressed and emotionally constipated all the time because of the fucked up drugs hes taking WITHOUT HIS CONSENT. Which is also why when he starts having sex frequently with Josh, his constitution improved drastically). Not only is he being drugged up like that without even being aware of it, Grayson thinks its somehow better to lie to him and say he did it with a dog??? Therefore, FUCK GRAYSON. i dont care if this is his sociopathic way of “oh but i helped my brother to not die”, nothing would ever change the fact that what he did is basically just abuse.
Not defending Grayson, he didn't make Chase passed out, he passed out from rut, if the Pheromone is not extracted he'll get brain damage their dad lost his emotional processing ability due to his rut. Either Chase do it via copulation or syringe, Chase didn't want to sleep with anyone heck he's afraid of going into rut (because of the dog) so he choose to have the medication himself to the point of overdosing it. And the dog thing again not defending Grayson as he is a nutcase he thinks that if he scared Chase enough, Chase will start to taking care of his Pheromone but back fired to him overdosing on medication.
Yes, he passes out from enduring it and Grayson states that. So he literally lets him pass out and then drugs him up. And just because his actions have some sociopathic logic to them and how he’s prolonging the suffering just enough to ensure Chase isnt dead, it doesnt make any of it any less cruel. Everything he’s done were in the eyes of someone with a serious mental disorder/lack of empathy, and it still shouldn’t be an excuse. I am yet to read DIMYC novel, but I feel I’ll be too biased and hateful right now so I’ll let it pass with time first.
