I kinda don't understand about the 'forgiveness' thing. For me ( I may be wrong), is it to stabilise the emotions of the king? The king is blinded by stress, anger and revenge that the grand prince may want him to take a breather and calm his mind. To let the king judge things objectively instead of being controlled by extreme emotion? (tho I would turn crazy if I am in his shoes. I would just killl everyone lololol)

I've just finished it. We have the same reason why I hesitant to read it too. It's good, it has a good amount of angst and fluff. Honestly, the angst is not that bad since it's complete. If we were to to have wait after season 1, we would've perished lol

It's me. I perished from existence because the author ended season 1 like that (I was reading it in real time. Like following the Manhwa weekly and then it ended like that AAAAHHHH) and I have yet to pick this Manhwa back up since even though it's finished and I know it ends on a happy note.
