I just read the novel and the translations r currently on chapter 144 out of 200 total chapters and there has been ZERO progress between the couple. Uke still thinks seme hates him and seme won’t communicate with the uke AT ALL. Its actually ridiculous. Like you could skip everything between chapter 8-144 and still be at the same plot point. Just for a different perspective, I absolutely loved the novel, like it's in my top 3 of all of them I've ever read!
It does take a frustratingly long time for the ML to finally explain to MC how he really feels but it explains why and it's partially because he doesn't know how to show love because he's literally never been loved by anyone in his life except grandma (and the MC, but he doesn't really realize it), and his parents were both the biggest pieces of garbage and he literally thinks you show love by throwing money at people and that's it.
The other part is that he legitimately doesn't know how the MC is feeling and why he's upset. He doesn't understand emotional needs or emotional cues that people give and he takes everything 100% literally (if you say you don't want anyone to come in your room, I'm not going to come in and check on you because I feel like that's respecting your wishes), and MC literally never actually says how he feels or what he wants except when it's regarding the divorce. Every time they are actually having a meaningful conversation, MC just gets flustered and says "you know what, nevermind, it doesn't matter" when ML is legit listening trying to know what the problem is. ML does get angry and let his pride get in the way sometimes but MC has such a huge inferiority complex that he decides that ML knows how he feels and just doesn't care about him because he's not good enough, so he doesn't try to talk about anything (or he starts to try and shuts it down in the middle), or work things out. Honestly both characters are damaged and have been hurt by everyone that should have loved them, and they noth hold fault, but in my opinion, they both have huge character development and grow into much better versions of themselves while learning how to love. It does take a frustratingly long time to get there, because 1 adult conversation right when he first asked for a divorce could have resolved all of it, but that's common in romance stories. Also the side characters are all super fun and well developed in my opinion too, I really enjoyed this story a lot!!
That's not to say the other person's opinion isn't valid, everyone enjoys things differently, but just a different perspective that in my opinion it's definitely not a waste of time to read!
