Regarding rourou's father:
In the beginning yi yun said rourou was definitely his b/c he even did a paternity test right after rourou was born. but feng feng was still controlling things back then and had the test results altered. remember awhile back after feng feng came back to claim rourou, yi yun had another test done through his friend with a secret sample of feng feng's hair. they never explicitly showed the results. but we saw yi yun get the results back and then he left the pages torn up in the trash. afterwards yi yun was in a panic about getting rourou taken away from him and how in any court of law the genetic parent would definitely win. he has no real claim on rourou. so it was implied that rourou is feng feng's. but by then feng feng was already in love with yi yun and he promised to raise rourou together. so the genetic issue was never confronted. it was ignored because feng feng wanted to stay with yi yun and yi yun was too frightened of losing rourou to ever bring it up.
Regarding yi yun's embryo:
feng feng and yi yun both submitted sperm to that foreign company to have a child through a surrogate mother. feng feng was nearly killed by family fighting for power. so he used his power to swap his and yi yun's so that feng feng could continue his family line safely. feng feng hadn't told yi yun yet, but he had yi yun's stored to give back later but feng feng's family found out and stole it. at the time no one knew yi yun was from the he family, so there was no value in stealing his child. they thought it was feng feng's and feng feng thought it was someone from his family trying to hold onto his weakness. feng feng was investigating and waiting to tell yi yun when he got it back but he was having trouble tracing it.
later we saw feng feng's aunt. if i remember, she was in an accident or something and couldn't have a child so no one considered her to be a possible successor. she used a surrogate mother to birth a child that she believes has her family's bloodline. this is yi yun's lost child.

it might also have to do with being the first born and the rightful successor according to tradition. but mostly i think it's to have the family bloodline. she was complaining a lot before about how they value having a successor the most, which makes sense when you have something passed down through a family line. the most important part is the continuation of the family line. so a possible successor's position is made stronger through having children and is weakened if they're gay or infertile or something that says the family line would end with them if they're named the successor.
what i don't understand is how she thinks she's going to explain the child. she can't have children but she's the one with her family's blood. as a couple that wants a child, they can use a surrogate mother but biologically the child would only be her husband's and would not be a part of the feng family. it would not have feng blood and wouldn't be considered a possible successor unless there were literally no other options. she can't have children and i don't think that's a secret. so she'd have to explain and prove the child's lineage to make them a real feng. but if she did that, she'd be a kidnapper. so i really don't know how she expects this to work out.

so is that normal for chinese families to not name and officially register their kid until they're a little older? in the us, my mom complained about the hospital trying to make her sign off on all the paperwork so soon after giving birth, she couldn't even focus well enough to read it.
