To be honest? Its not that he dont understand it, he doesnt want to. They both have rough childhoods yes but if shin was able to pluck himself to the wrong crowd why cant gren? Whats the excuse? Coz he a kid? Until when is that a valid point? Shingun that gren remember of the past is long dead when he decided to change his life course, gren is just pushing and insisting to this 'family' shit that Shin has long abandoned. Is he the badguy for doing that? No, not even a bit and thats what gren dont want to understand. That in this point of Shins life he is more or less a stranger who you happen to blend in the past. He's only thinking about himself and basically gaslighting Shin to do his bidding, he was already given a chance by the both of them what more does shin needs to do in order to protect someone who basically doesnt even care about himself let alone his protectors??

I understand where he's coming from but that doesn't stop me from disliking him.
His sad childhood doesn't excuse him from the consequences of his actions. He's delusional, a victim complex, and has taken zero accountability for any of his actions. Him being an addict and having a shitty life doesn't excuse him from wanting to blow up Shin's. This is a case of crabs in a bucket. Gren can't let the past go and keeps spiraling into worse and worse behavior, and he wants to drag Shin along with him.

Fr! People saying Shin’s in the same situation. No he’s not. Gren didn’t understand when he was a kid and no one taught him otherwise and by now he’s in too deep. Shin saw everything for what it was from when he was a kid so he got out of there asap. I also feel like a lot of people don’t realize how addicts are. I hope he gets the help he deserves and he isn’t written off with some tragic ending. I’ll be so upset if he dies in the end. Shin deserves peace in his life and I just hope that in the end they can come together to some degree

what do you mean what's gren's excuse? not everyone is the same and can make the same decisions?? gren obviously doesn't wanna be a drug addict or in a gang but it's the only thing he's known his whole life what do you expect. i understand your pov but from what i've read gren doesn't wanna harm shin or understands that what he's doing isn't right because he's an addict he's been living his life like that for so long and i honestly think it would help gren if shin explained what is going on and why gren needs to leave the city and why they cant stay together. plus shin doesn't think of him as a stranger if you recall he actually cares a lot about him and still calls him family and the only one who went through his childhood with him and felt guilty that he told gren to leave.

his past doesn't excuse his behavior sure but it's just simple cause and effect. because gren was raised that way, he has become that kind of person, and it's not like he can help it or understands what he's doing isn't okay. he's an addict and only has one family, which is shin, so obviously he'll do whatever to stay with him. plus gren is stuck in the past because he only has shin, and shin was also stuck in the past too and was gonna stay with gren until he found out he's in a gang and then the whole shooting happened so shin had no choice but to make gren leave. idk why everyone talks like shin dislikes gren and doesn't miss him, because shin does and has said it before. he just dislikes gren's actions and the choices he's making, but gren is making those choices because he literally has only ever known being like this, so someone needs to be there for him to help him change.

No one can make anyone change who doesn’t want to change. Just like you can’t help a person who doesn’t want help or isn’t ready to receive help. Your past isn’t an excuse. An explanation sure but even while Gren is in rehab he is talking about how nothing is his fault? Like as an addict, you have to acknowledge that it is YOUR fault you started doing drugs and everything you did afterwords IS your fault. You can acknowledge that those actions are your fault while at the same time understanding it was a product of your shitty situation. Only then can you start to move forward. Gren doesn’t want to change and him blaming Shin is manipulative because he knows Shin cares about him. And him shifting the situation into wanting to kill that other person and they should do it together…. Like Gren clearly isn’t in his right mind and needs to stay in rehab away from Shiin and get it together.

yeah exactly he doesn't understand that he's an addict who's blaming everyone but himself and obviously shin is about to put him in his place and tell him that he needs to change. i personally think that gren isn't being like this because he's a shitty manipulative asshole who doesn't wanna change, i think he just needs to get help.
