I recently reread this, front to back, and have realized that the story's pacing isn't that slow. It's actually quite fast. From the moment she regresses to the moment she gets her first power up is like 40 chapter. I remember readers begging to get hot daddy back after the little time skip because it felt forever since they had seen each other, but it is legit like 15 chapters that they are separated.
I think the culprint here is the slow update time. If it had a schedule like I'll be the matriarch in this life, it would probably not feel as slow.
As for the newest chapter I've read, ML imprisons MC in the apartment, not letting him go for a week. Because MC tried to leave after learning he has been responsible for clearing his debt, the scholarship, and dealing with his father. ML says MC told him he loved him, MC says he regretted it, and he would've never said that if he knew what type of person ML was.
ML loses it, and imprisons him. Afer the week, the students are worried because he is nowhere to be found. The dean stepped in to dispell the rumors, and his "friends" regret believing them because they know how smart and dedicated he is.
ML is who to have MC's phone and is reading all the messages. When he gets home, there is a bunch of guards and a housekeeper. ML takes to food to MC, and tella him to eat. MC says he has not been able to go to school for a week and to please let him go. ML says that even if he doesn't go, he will still graduate. MC refuses to eat, so mL tells him to get a grip because he will not make it out if there, even in death.
