You know, as I read these stories, I find the whole concept of sibling rivalry, where one sibling constantly wants what the other sibling has, absolutely mind-boggling. Like, why the fuck would you want your sibling's partner? I just genuinely don't get it (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
I mean, hey, it's a plot device.... If it helps move the characters in the right direction, great. But I've just never really understood this whole plot of "oh, the sibling always wants what the other sibling has and he's somehow able to to cause a rift between the couple." Like huh...
Also the uke isn't a "thing" that can be just taken away lol like what?? In these types of Tropes the bottom or the uke thought process or them being a whole ass person who can make decisions for themselves seems to be never taken into consideration......It's just such a weird-ass fucking thing to me. But I guess, it's fiction, and it works ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I don't know, I just wish there was something more to the plot.....Like, I get that sibling/family dynamics have a huge role to play in this relationships and in shaping who these characters are as people but I just wish there was a little more to it. I absolutely love the characters, and I love the character growth that's happening, but this whole "evil sibling" plot is just something I can't fully wrap my head around ╥﹏╥
The older sibling doesn't even want his partner. He wants to mess with his younger brother, that's all. I thought their messed up dynamic was kinda realistic?? Each one was envious of the other, the older one was jealous that the younger was healthy and could do whatever he wanted while the younger one was feeling neglected and unimportant to his parents. Their parents really should have had a talk about this to the both of them, and the older one needs to grow the fuck up and not be so vindictive
i think this manhwa did define for this concept showing the past first as to why he wants things the other sibling has and why its still there but yea most stories take advantage of it... take regression and reincarnation manhwas for example..
Oh, I completely get that! And I do think the author has done a good job establishing their family dynamics and showing how their upbringing shaped their resentment toward each other. I actually find that aspect of the story quite interesting.
I guess my issue is more with this trope in general, where one sibling uses the other's relationship as a way to get back at them. Like, I understand the jealousy, resentment, and wanting to hurt someone, but why does it always have to involve their partner?

its like you stop noticing at some point.. For example in historical manhwas mc gets a sibling and is then deemed "useless". Same with like step siblings or people trying to take in mc's place, with most of them having the same mindset. Being jealous of the way others live comfortably. I have 2 siblings and i'd never understand how this happens but it's just parents. I guess? But yea this is THE plot point and when the sibling doesnt change i might even drop manhwas because of it. For as twisted and fucked up as their relationship is, it's genuinely healthier than a lot of the red and black flag manhwa relationships out there..... Like, I can't believe I'm even saying this, but they actually COMMUNICATE. When issues come up, they talk things through, work out their differences, and reconcile instead of letting everything spiral into absolute chaos.
Once their relationship was established, they genuinely had so many surprisingly healthy moments. And honestly? This is probably one of the best-written 3P polyamorous dynamics I've come across in my recent reads. They're all equally messed up in their own ways, but somehow they complement each other perfectly. They're literally made for each other, and their dynamic just WORKS.
Like, don't get me wrong, it's still incredibly twisted and morally questionable, but within their own fucked-up little universe, they've somehow managed to build a relationship with actual communication, understanding, and emotional growth. The bar might be in hell, but I'm genuinely impressed (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

But the mangaka has also created some genuinely wholesome and beautiful stories, so I think she’s allowed to explore something completely unhinged too. If I remember correctly, she even mentioned in her interview that she wanted to go down a completely deranged path, and well, this is the outcome
I think this is just her creative outlet to explore something absolutely fucked up, and not every fictional work needs to be approached as a moral statement. Sometimes it really is just porn. Take the story with a grain of salt, admire the artwork, and call it a day.
