I regret wasting my time reading this. I found it a few days ago and dropped it today 100+ chapters in. Spoilers below.

Deon ends up stooping lower than the level of Duke Illuster (the main guy responsible for Deon's tragic backstory) in his pursuit of revenge against the world. He begins using and killing people left and right, including people who have treated him with kindness, innocent civilians, children, you name it.

I was not expecting to see comments coddling him, acting like the late Emperor did far worse things to him than he is doing to all these other people now, and getting mad at characters understandably wanting revenge against him. "He had a sad backstory, so I guess everyone else can go die" type of narrow thinking, as if he's the only one who matters. Nothing Deon went through justifies all of these gruesome actions he's taking in the name of so-called revenge. I have no interest in continuing to read a story with someone like him as the main character, or seeing comments from the people who continue to baby him and disregard the feelings, perspectives and experiences of other characters.

Besides all that, there were also a lot of plot holes and nonsensical decision-making throughout the story for an easy way to create and preserve conflict. I could look past that if I still liked the main character, but here we are.

I came into to this expecting a fun misunderstanding story (I avoided spoilers), but now I'm left with a bitter feeling. If you have any recommendations for manga that were more like the beginning of this story, please respond with them.
