Sengoku Musou dj - Depth of Underskin
Subarashii Kiseki ni Yasashii Kimi to
Uke meets a former baseball player while handing out flyers for club membership. Uke catches feelings right away but doesn't take it too serious until seme turned up on their clubroom's door hoping to join them.
I really love the story because of its plot and wholesome characters which is a rare find in the vast ocean of BL stories. The uke is super adorable and kind and the seme cares a lot especially for his family and it just made me feel sad about how he blames himself for his parents' divorce when in fact, he was just a kid and should be focusing more on school and just have fun. Good thing he met Enoki, an angel in disguise of a student who will make the seme rise up from the pit of his self-reproach. Also, I would like to note that this story contains fear of being judged by society which results to a secret relationship by the two. But there are cute moments that make up for it so I'll definitely reread this again for the feels <3
Harapeko Usagi To Koisuru Ookami
Seme is fond of rabbits but is afraid to touch them until he found a rabbit in the park in danger of being eaten by a scrawny poor boy who was hungry and sick enough to eat a rabbit from a pet shop where he works. Seme took pity and offered him food and falls in love with him because he reminds uke of a rabbit.
This story was so bland. It took me almost two years to finally read this, which I shouldn't have since I really don't like it, but I finally finished it today only to get disappointed. I have a thought that seme must be a furry because he like rabbit characteristics on a person. And why the hell do they fall in love so fast in these stories?
Kimagure To Amagami
Model seme thinks that his manager is very cold and closed. Until he found out that his manager has social anxiety disorder which makes him afraid of being too close with others, mentally and physically. Seme falls hard for him and is determined to enter his life, even by force.
The concept of the story is something that I like, but the execution was bad. It's like the seme 's feelings is shallow and only wants to challenge himself to get what he wants. And I hate that seme got mad at uke for not accepting his feelings. Like sir, ikaw ang unang pumasok sa buhay niya tapos magagalit ka dahil concerned lang si uke sayo? Obobs. Seme doesn't care at all about uke's feelings and he has only one goal in mind, to make uke fall for him.
Fukigen na Kimi to Kimagure na Kiss
Uke was in love with seme since middle school, but as he got to know more about seme, his infatuation slowly fades. Seme takes advantage of uke's kind gestures, like sleeping in his bed after being drunk and eating his foods, ugh. They both got into a mixer and as uke was about to get a chance of having a girlfriend, seme went into cockblock mode. Uke was then led on by seme again, catching feelings all over again, just to have his heart broken.
I really like this kind of revenge stories. Not literally "revenge" but the kind of plot where uke falls first but seme falls harder type of revenge. Seme is an asshole and I don't care whatever kind of personal issues he has, he still hurts uke's feelings. In the end, I'm glad that uke was finally appreciated and got the love that he deserves, although the seme has a lot of sins to atone and compensation to give. 9.5/10 might read again
Kowagaranai de, Soba ni Ite
Two lovers was failing their marriage and an accident happened to the seme right after, causing him to lose his memory of his lover. The uke pretended not to know him to cut off their relationship for good. But seme fell in love all over again and uke seems to be in love with him still.
I was expecting this story to make me cry but it has one thing that I hate the most, the overused concept of misunderstanding. Maybe people in Japan are not used to being straightforward I guess? Anyway, it has great potential and I like that no matter what happens, they still love each other. If that's not true soulmates, then I don't know. Also, I just have to say that everything that happened was the uke's fault so I hate him.
A Thousand Cranes
Uke accidentally witnessed a murder on his way home from work. The killer hunted him down to kill him to get rid of the evidence, but the killer took a liking to him. He hired him as his personal psychiatrist even though uke has no degree at all in clinical psychiatry lols. Anyway, uke discovers that the man is not bad at all and is only dealing with personal trauma that prevents him from having good sleep.
I thought it was funny that seme hired MC to be his psychiatrist just because he helps him sleep better lmao. The story was interesting and all, but I got bored over time. I was expecting seme to be evil because of the first encounter but he was so soft around uke that it's like he's a different person. I feel like there are some parts that were left unresolved. but overall, it was okay
Anti Alpha
MC pretended to be an alpha in an all-alpha school because his mom couldn't accept the fact that she has an omega for a child. He was raised as an alpha all his life until his rival triggered his heat revealing his secret. ML offered to keep his mouth shut in exchange for sex.
What I like about this story is that the uke's feelings seems so real, like it's something that real people can relate to, never mind that this was set in omegaverse world. Something about accepting one's identity and denying what your parents imposed to you ever since a child. You can't easily grow out of it, much less fight for what you think is the real you just days after you've realized it yourself; it's something that I commend the author for writing very well. About the seme, I was so confused at first whether he's likeable or not. One moment he's annoying, the next thing, you'll realize that he wasn't a bad person after all. He just have a bad way of showing his love. He's the kind of person who doesn't hype you up but still gives you courage. Plus, he's undeniably hot.
