He regrets it period, i wouldn't even date a person with that kind of personality either coz he took familiarity for granted like his father did . I can't blame the old Agnes for being so infatuated with Raymond given of how she grew up and Raymond kinda blamed Agnes because he didn't get to be with his mother in her final moments and for that it's understandable of why he treated her like that.
