So I took a break from reading BL for a while and damn has the landscape changed drastically. ATP we know that a majority of producers and consumers of BL content are disproportionately women(which isn’t a big deal). The typical “hetero-normal” gender roles have always been prevalent in the medium, but it’s to the point it feels like the uke is just a self-insert now. Not to mention, the rise and popularity of rape/abuse in Korean BL has started to become the norm unlike the past, that it feels like it’s become a outlet for women to explore sexually taboo fantasies without the shame. it doesn’t even feel like I’m reading a dark fantasy story anymore. Just smut with a focus on rape. I was just curious if anyone knew the reason for such a culture shift in what women like reading.

Just finished reading chapter 97, starting to get worried with how this fight is progressing. They should be killing off a character here, especially since I doubt this will be the final bout between the Mc and Teslon(but I think some major plot armor is going to happen). Also, it’s kind of disappointing that Teslons motivation(despite recognizing that the worlds hidden history is restricting the growth of mankind) is just that he’s racist and wants slaves.
I’m ngl this shit sucks. It’s literally just an aura farm simulator, bro is murim Jesus with no draw backs. It’s just a cycle of; MC disappears -> Power up -> arrives last second to save the day -> starts losing -> Awakens/has enlightenment mid fight and learns new technique.
Dropping until it’s updated enough to the point where MC isn’t a loser who can’t fully grasp and use his own powers even though he has reincarnated. What a joke lol.
