Everyone in the comments feeling extremely nostalgic like..it’s been 4 (almost 5) years since I read this and I STILL come back to it every year because the regret arc is so damn good

Now that the comments are back I came back to say BRING BACK PLOT HEAVY SCHOOL LIFE SHOUJO!! I feel like all the popular shoujo manga out now is pure fluff with barely any plot or care for the characters outside of the main romance. What I love about this one is that it emphasizes how important the friendship was between the four and the world building was really good. I loved the romance, but I think I loved the dynamics between the main four the most.

If I were to compare this to a manga it would be gakuen alice, except less intense and more romance. The plots aren’t entirely similar, but they both put a lot of work into the world building (and have brooding male leads). If you liked this, you’ll probably like gakuen alice as well.

I don’t think I’ve read a manga that has matched up to this one since I’ve read it. Seriously if you have more manga recs similar to this please recommend me some

For those of you that just want to read the main couple go for it nothing rlly wrong with them and their story was enjoyable

But that side story…

I actually felt like gagging. It felt like the author noticed that this story was too happy and needed to add something to start some shit (from what I’ve gathered of their other works taboos/toxicity seem to be common themes). That weird incest plotline was SO unnecessary and the side couples story could’ve been better if we had just gone the protective older brother route instead of making him a predator and obsessive. Because of that plot line the side couples story just became a weird rape fantasy for the older brother and dojun. I wasn’t that fond of the second couple to begin with but I somehow feel like we were robbed of an actual good story. It had good potential for the angst with jinyoung being a player and dojun being inexperienced and how they manage to understand eachother but instead we got a graphic assault scene that lasted WAY TOO LONG and a weird sex scene between the second couple literally right after. Simply awful.

Again the majority of the story is fine. The main story was entertaining and their relationship development was pretty good. But if you don’t want to have a bad taste in your mouth I would opt to skip the side stories

I get some of y'all wanting more groveling but what he did was pretty justifiable. It sucks but that's kind of how the entertainment world is like in certain areas (tho he could've handled it differently).

Honestly, I get why he did that. Though it sucks to be rejected and I normally hate when the male lead is all "I have to push her away! I'm so dangerous!" but in this case he's a celebrity and as someone who's seen how crazy stans can get it was probably better for her own safety that he did that. Though I can't lie I'm eating this angst up and I hope the other short haired blonde guy starts really going for chii so I can get more angst

This really reminds me of the type of manhwa I used to read. It def has that late 2010s school life manhwa feel ifykwim. This is such a gewfy read but I didn’t think I’d get invested in their relationships ( I did). The art was a bit inconsistent at times but the characters and the humor make up for it. I love that they added the 2nd couple (I honestly enjoyed reading their storyline more than the first couple but also I’m just weak to the childhood friends to lovers trope ESPECIALLY when it has delicious unrequited love it makes the best angst) and I love their little friend circle it’s so cute

This is probably the oldest shoujo manga i've read so far (1988). It's a great simple read. A lot of older manga tend to have darker themes, but this one kept it light hearted. The banter/development of the relationship was done well as well, and is a slowburn.

This made me want to kill myself but in a good way!! I loved the friends to lovers and their relationship made me want to repeatedly bash my head against the wall cos they were so cute. Their relationship felt very realistic too and how the honeymoon phase doesn’t last forever

I'm really really glad I read this when I was older. When I was 13 I tried reading like a few chapters but I dropped it cause I didn't like the whole dead ex trope and stuff and just forgot about it. If I read it when I was younger, I don't think I would be able to grasp that and would probably shit on this manga for being too unnecessarily complicated. I could get all deep about this but basically I think it was supposed to be complicated because relationships are complicated. Also there were a lot of banger lessons/quotes in this manga that really resonated especially in the second half. I don't think this is for everyone though. It is a romance, but I def view it as more of a coming of age/yano's healing process.

i think the best part of this manga was that I really noticed just how young they were when they got so deep into their relationship. They were just kids who made stupid kid decisions and it affected the outcome of their relationships 5 years into the future.

Just again I think it just depends on your perspective and if you'd like it or not. I would've liked it no matter what happened to Nana's romantic relationships because I just wanted everyone to be happy.

I'm seriously glad that there are people out here who still enjoy this manga. This is genuinely a masterpiece. I loved it when I was younger, I was only 9 when I originally read this, but now as an adult I fully grasp the emotions the characters went through. It's as if I grew alongside the characters, being emotionally driven as a kid and now as an adult being able to make logical decisions.

EXACTLY!! The mangaka did such a good job at showing the character's age and how it affected their decisions/outlook on life and it really did feel like I grew up along with the characters. Truly a complex and amazing manga
