I have seen many evil kings in these types of manhwas but this one takes the cake. He is a special kind of wicked. And what is with the title? Why even bother being polite to someone like that. It should be renamed " your majesty, please allow me to kill you before you kill me." If she ends up with the emperor, I am droping this. So here is what we can conclude. Diego is the type that wants a challenge. We wants what he can't have and doesn't like when it is easy. In other words, he competitive and entitled.That is why he is interested in Ibe. The idea of winning the girl over from another guy excites him. He is not interested in Eleanor, because there is no other guy giving her attention. So there is no competition. Guys like this tend to be a problem because what happens after he wins the girl? Will he just lose interest? I would not be surprised if in the original story, he and Eleanor run in to some issues in there relationship after the the Duke dies or they get married.
I feel like in the original novel, Diego was interested in Eleonora because he saw duke and Eleonora together but eventually started falling for her but now Duke is with Ibelina and that is what makes him interested in Ibe because cold hearted duke never glanced at any girl but is interested in mere maid so now he is gonna persue Ibe and then eventually fall for her which will make eleonora jealous as empire most powerful Guys are not giving her attention

Honestly the one of the biggest take aways from stories like this is to never hang on to relationships that only make you give and never receive even of they are your own parent. That is the common theme I am seeing for these manhwas. The Grand Duke is actually trash. I know they are gonna pull a ruve move here like in the abandoned empress and make it seem like there was a good reason he acted this way but this man is irredeemable, he is a disgrace as a father. He can go to hell with his fake daughter and stay there. I hope the MC never forgets what trash the Duke really is.
I never thought I could agree with someone so much. Honestly, he really is a disgrace. Child negligence or any form of abuse, towards anyone, for any matter, can not be excused. Even if you may have sob story that somehow "explains" it, it's not like it suddenly makes up for it. It may be sad, but it doesn'tdo anything for anyone when in the end it was legitimately your actions taken that count. I know that the story will probably take a turn, her loving her father after a fragment of the past is declared, but one should not just forget the wrongs done to them because someone had it hard. She is the most important person in her life and shouldn't forget that she had it hard too. So hard in fact she ended up dying because of other people's blind eyes. Instead of forgetting it, she should use it like a trump card and become stronger. She should know she doesn't have to lean on others and wait for support haha, sorry it's a long reply ! I just really wanted to share my opinion. The beginning broke my heart because it hit close to home, so I want her to push past the worst, even if she is a fictional character ,:)
This is started to get weird and makes no sense, low key. I mean the story is going out of it's way to involve the people the screwed over the FL. It literally makes no sense to dance with a guy who snatched the mask off of your face in your "first meeting". And while they dance, he goes and tells her his whole life story. Like Huh?
