I don't know, what could have been a better ending? Some explanation?

I can't predict what he'll choose, like at all. I can imagine him choosing the afterlife and the throne, I can see him commending the reapers and protecting them, and I can see Geumsn there helping him.
I can imagine him reincarnating and the search Geumsun puts through and the years he waits for him.
I don't know which is sadder.
Guys have I lost my understanding or it's normal not to understand?
I am kind of seeing the last episode as him avenging his family, killing him and then ending his own life.
I can't accept a happy ending at this rate
I need an action live, a drama series, when will they do this series justice?
Each freaking chapter is alluring, the story just gets more interesting.
