Prob cuz shes the second empress and wants her kid to take the throne, theo as the first and crown prince would be a thorn in her side. She most likely can't off him, at least it seems that way, so by never showing his face and keeping him locked away shes erasing his existence making him appear unqualified to take the throne, its a rather peaceful method but still extremely damaging for theo.

So I know there's four stories one with Tae, the other his brother , the side stories one and one with xinlu. I haven't read book two so those of you who have why does Rahman hate Tae so much? While I know the twins love each other even if the oldest has a weird way of showing it it seems like his lovers hate is just crazy. Is it because tae is directly linked to his survival? Or that Tae will always be more important to him or something?
Jealousy. Rahman hates that Jaeui loves Taeui more than him. Also annoyed that Taeui's suitors (have already/will) cause a ton of trouble for him.
Adding to say: even though Jaeui doesn't express himself well, he'll very clearly do anything for Taeui. Rahman doesn't have this privilege and keeps begging for Jaeui to help him, so seeing Jaeui willing to indulge Tay, but not him, makes his jealousy even worse lol

try reading the second book, you will find ilay hates jaeui, there is a scene there that ugh everyone will hate ilay so so much, because hes so fuckin stupid

Man, the second story is simultaneously my most and least favourite in the authors catalogue. Either the Ilay scenes are gold or they piss me off (he was FERAL for Christoph cuck door scene)
